Geez, I've never heard of finasteride. The only thing I take for my prostate is Saw Palmetto. I'm guessing I'll have to get fina either from the "hook up" man, or my docter right?

Finasteride is not "fina"...."Fina" is what Trenbolone Acetate is called.
Really don't want to interject here...but Blocking 5 alpha reductase's interaction with DHT to reduce BPH and eventually cancer is viable...... However...according to my collegue Micheal Mooney....Saw may also block up to 42% of Test receptors. Nettle root and Pygeum may be better. (I have posts on this at another board) Additionally, Mudge..I know you are hooked up with Allopathic Medicine........but dying of cancer is needless to say the least. I don't want to write voumes here.....but in my business.....death from many cancers is preventable, curable and not necessary! DP |

Hooked up? I'm very much a newbie to this stuff, but I find it interesting. I was doing research years ago to help a friend on cures done at home, and found doctors who cured thier own breast cancer etc with simple flax oil and cottage cheese, which was my first exposure to flax.
I wish I knew what site it was, one of the natural remedy type places. She had a HUGE lump, and nobody would take it out without removing a breast, so she was determined to see what she could do on her own and basically just did it dietarily. I swore I saved the site but somehow did not. Ultimately what she said was that she was discusted that many doctors KNOW NOTHING and are TAUGHT NOTHING about diet, since the industry lives on DRUG MONEY. |

Finasteride (Proscar) interferes with the effect of certain male hormones (androgens) on the prostate. This slows the growth of the prostate and can even cause it to become smaller, which may help improve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
However, since prostate size does not always correspond to the severity of a man's symptoms, these medications will not give satisfactory results in every case. Why It Is Used Finasteride may be prescribed for men who have moderate symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). How Well It Works Finasteride seems to work best in men with very enlarged prostates. Finasteride does not provide any significant improvement in symptoms for men with only slightly enlarged prostates. The medication improves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in about half of those who take it. Generally, men notice a 30% improvement in their American Urological Association (AUA) symptom index score. When successful, the drug: Decreases prostate size. Increases the rate of urinary flow. Doesn't look like this was intended to be used for prevention of cancer? And who knows that this guy got it from test? Lots of men get it that never done test. There are all sorts of bogus articles about steriods. They are dangerous to use no doubt. But as far as test or 1-test causing cancer, I don't buy it. |

People are quick to point the finger, there was another guy that insisted he got cataracts from using test some 20 years prior, after using I think on 4 seperate occasions.
