I just started taking hgh a week ago ... i read on your site that you should take it first thing when you wake up (a guy asked if he should take it at night cause thats when you build muscle and he was told that this approach was wrong)
The nurse who came and explained how and when to take my injection told me it should be at night before bed cause that is when we build our muscle and it would be most effective ... i have gotten really great advice from this site so that is why i am curious.

It was me asking about AM or PM dosing, and this is my summation of AM dosing theory; we do release HGH mostly at night, so by taking it in the AM your are giving your body more HGH, to grow around the clock.
If you take it at night you will just supplement your natural HGH or even shut it down.
Please correct me if my postulation is incorrect![]()

I am 27 yo ... i am starting out at .6 a day as prescribed by the doctor .... I am on my second week .... to shed some weight and to help promote my overall health also my growth lvls were tested and i was very low ... i lost 75 lbs since the first of this year ... i allowed myself to slip ... I have been in good shape and was an athlete all my life
I agree with your theory on this situation but that still has me questioning why the nurse told me to do it at night .... i also heard the igf receptors compete for the same receptors as insulin so it would be the best time, in the am, since you just woke up from a fast aka sleeping

we recomend our patients to take it in the morning so it does not affect with the natural production during the night. It might be old school thought but it works
if you are taking .6 iu a day then one dose in the morning is good
did your doctor say why he wanted to start you lower than 1iu

yea my doctor wrote me the script for .6 to start off and increasing slowly to about 2 iu daily ... is there anything you can recommend for me to increase the effects
I am currently taking a multipack daily vitamin, fish oil, vit D 2000iu , lysin amino acid, co q 10 also about 70 g of protein from shakes and my diet has been pretty good ... lots of turkey and chick and veggies high in fiber as well
any advice would be excellent.... alot of my friends are saying i should mix some test in with it to gain some size ... i am looking to get cut up ... right now at 24% bf 6 ft 215

well i jsut wanted to let you know he has me on a low dose of hgh not test ... i have already been moved up to 1 mg a day after 1 month ... a friend of mine has been with the docotr and its up to 2 mg after a year ... its also about what insurance will cover too so you have to understand they have to work with insurance companies and hmo's


hgh is hindered by slin lvl's. Ensure you take it an hour before or after you eat for best results. Take your hgh in the evening before bed to promote mass. No shakes or food or anything within an hour of hgh....probobly the most important thing for best results.

I have no metabolic reasoning other than natural hgh is released in higher doses at night during REM sleep, nature already figured this out for us.
My main reasoning comes from doing alot of reading of others and thier experiences using hgh. Almost all in every situation say that hgh at night is best for mass with some fat loss (side effects initially will be different for people taking it at night, but once you get used to it you will sleep harder). Hgh during the day gives greater weight loss effects with less mass results.
Reasoning for this is common sence when thinking about slin lvl's. During the day we have to eat 5,6,7 times spiking slin lvl's and lowering the effectiveness for some things (mass) and increasing weight loss, but if you dont eat for 1-2 hours before taking it at night than you have very minimul slin lvl's for many hours.
Some people advocate slin, like the guy quoted above, pre workout with hgh at night.Insulin helps increase muscle protein synthesis and amino acid transport. growth hormone helps increase whole body protein synthesis, increases amino acid transport and also helps with prevent the breakdown of amino acids.
Again, this is all info I have from reading on hgh and other peoples experiences. Dosages and times are always dependent on a persons lifestyle and what they whish to achieve from hgh. Do as much surfing, talking to others, and reading as you can to figure out what's best for you for your goals.


I agree that natural HGH is mostly released at night...thus my reasoning for using it during the day. The body produces HGH is a pulsatile fashion throughout the day with the heaviest pulses occurring approximately 2-3 hours after going to bed as you fall into a deep sleep. Injectible HGH is completely absorbed and put to use within approximately 3 hours (via SQ). The strategy with respect to timing depends somewhat on our age and the other elements of our cycle. As you will see below, there is no single best strategy. It depends a lot on your individual situation.
For those that are between their late 20's and early 50's, there is still a reasonable chance that your own endogenous production of HGH is still at a reasonable level. The best time to take the injection, this being the case, would be early morning. After your body's own release of HGH at night. If you get up to go to the bathroom in the early morning, this is probably the perfect time to take a couple of units of HGH. This will be the least disruptive time to take an injection of HGH. The second best time would be first thing in the morning when you wake up.
If you are splitting your doses, two times of the day when your cortisol levels are at peak are when you wake up and in the early afternoon. Another good strategy is to take your HGH injections at these times. Cortisol is very catabolic by nature and a well -timed HGH injection can go a long way toward blunting this effect.
If you are in your late 50's or beyond, or if for some reason you have a condition that has rendered your pituitary incapable of a normal release of HGH, a great time to take HGH is right before bed. This allows you to closely mimic the natural pattern that would occur if your pituitary were functioning properly. For the rest of us, taking your HGH right before bed is going to end up creating a negative feedback loop, robbing you of your body's own nightly pulse of HGH. IMHO.

thanks for everyone who has commented ... i think im gonna start up with the am injections ... seems like its better for what i am looking to do ... makes more sense i would rather have my own gH active at night and use the injections to keep it high the rest of the day
