I just joined and trying to sponge as much as possible. I appreciate the articles and advice I have read, but still pretty confused as to what I should and shouldn't take for the 1st time taking steroids. I am serious about bulking up and getting big, been working out for 4 months, but it is a start. But I feel like I am spinning my wheels and spending a lot of money on garbage protein powder, creatine this, this Nitrics that. I have totally changed my eating habits and no fast food for 4 months, lean meats, veggies, rice, fruit, oatmeal..etc. I am committed to getting fit, and want to get big !
I am 6' 4'
45 yrs old
had a 42 inch waist - now 36
weight 225
I have not measured bf but plan to
I workout every other day
starting to see little def/cut and have lost quit a bit of weight
I will try my 1st cycle, but I want to be educated and do it smart. I am nervous about injections and if I went that route, I want to insure I have all the right gear the first time.
normally i'd say give it a full 1-2 years minimum but seeing as how you're in your late 40's i still recommend you give it a few more month and take advantage of the elevated test from lifting alone....regardless of your goals, when you are ready keep it simple and use a long ester test (test e or test c) 250-500mg a week will be plenty for 10-12 weeks then two weeks after your last inject do a nolva only pct 40mg/day wk 1pct then 30/20/20 for the next 3 weeks.....there's really no need for all the other add-ons as it can become overkill to a newbie.....
Your right about one thing, there is a lot of info and gear out there, so I want to keep it simple for the 1st time and not injure myself or do harm. I have so much to learn, but I keep doing research daily on diet, exercise programs, and supplements.
Again, just simple workout routine and doing the same every other day to just build strength and allow my body to getting used to lifting. I cardio on the off days, but that is limited to walking and treadmill.
My plan was to move to a split routine of muscle groups daily and Sunday off. I will be traveling for work, so I will have to plan that accordingly.
very good idea not to train the same muscle more than once in a week, that being said some people do train weak parts twice a week but one heavy and one light/pump.
You may find gains better moving to a split brother, again that being said programs like 20 rep squats are great for bulking and that is the same program done 3 times a week but onky for 6 weeks.
You may be able to get TRT if so that is a HUGE bonus as you will get legit gear
There are pleny of good decent supps out there to help you out along with your diet, just dont get fall for the hyped up ones lol.
Anything you need to know feel free to ask any of us on here or PM us if you have things you dont wish to discuss on an open thread.

Food
Gear would actually set you back at this point, because you will likely lose your gains post cycle due to decreased testosterone production.
The right dietary and exercise programs coupled with patience are all you need.

it means Testosterone Replacement Therapy, some men when they get into their 40's or even earlier start to produce lower levels of Testosterone and if so you can get a script from your Doc for testosterone injections.

Welcome to the board. There are lots of great sticky's on routines and diet and even first cycle I believe. Dont feel like a old guy because your not. There are lots of members here that are older. I'm 53 and I cycle. But was mentioned keep things basic and you will be amazed with your results. A routine that works pretty well for me is legs, back and bi's one day like mon. Shoulders, chest and tri's, wed. Then legs back and bi's again on friday. Most often I workout again on saturday and hit all the touch up groups like more calves, forearms, ab's, traps or some other area I feel needs a bit more work. I do ab's every workout. Sometimes for a more intense routine I bring my timer in with me and do 30 second rest intervals and that will really kick your butt. Obviously you have to do a lot less weight because timed rest periods routine is intense. Once a routine gets stale change it. The old term is called the confusion technique. Once you get used to a certain weight or routine it's no longer effective, change it up. I'm glad you are really getting into this because the benifits are enormous.

Testosterone is a safe and simple way to cycle especially for a man your age. I would be very curious to see what you current Testosterone levels are. As men age our Testosterone levels decline. You may be a legitimate candidate for Testosterone replacement therapy. My advice is for you to get a complete hormonal panel from your doctor. Once you do that you can either get on TRT or decide to cycle. If you cycle a simple 600mg Testosterone weekly cycle for 10 weeks is what I would recommend.
