finasteride is good, advodart is another one. saw palmetto works for some with rogaine topical. never heard of the other one.

duasteride, can cause permanent sexual side effects, Finasteride is safer of the two. I use Img finasteride daily, Nioxin shampoo daily, Nizoral shampoo 3x a week. Im scared of Rogaine because I have read many reports that it can actually speed up the process of shedding in order for new follicle growth, but sometimes new growth does not occur. I also use vit d, and saw palmetto daily. good luck. Ask your self" Is extra muscle worth going bald"? for me the answer is no!!!!

I dont think that i did shed like crazy. Honestly, with the Finasteride I remember a little shedding, but nothing to "really stress" about though. I like Nioxin system 1. It feels realy refreshing on the scalp. Nizoral 2 0r 3 x a week compliments the finasteride, as finasteride can kinda make the scalp a liitle dry, also nothing to really stress about. Please use saw palmetto!!!!!! its a must!

boomstick< I think if you are seriously prone to hair loss like a norwood 5,6, or 7, I dont think finasteride will help. If you suffer from mild to moderate thinning especially around the vortex, or crown this chemical can be useful. I do know for a fact, the earlier in life that you start the better the results. If you are using this for a receding hairline, well my friend not much good it will really do. People want to bash finasteride because yes, there is inital shedding. Im 33 and have been using finasteride off and on since I was 27 or 28. I have about 90% of the same hair that I had when I was 17 or so. Ive been on nioxin since I was 18.My ex worked at a salon when I was a kid and I started using it for just the nutrients alone. its your call, brother. stylus187
