    Bent needle

Today was the first time that I tried giving myself a shoulder shot by myself. I'm using a 1 inch, 25 gauge needle.
Pretty sure I hit the right spot, but I tried injecting after the needle was in and no matter how hard I pushed I couldn't inject any test. I pulled the needle out and the fucking thing was bent.
What the hell happened? I'm pretty sure I shot low enough to not hit bone, how did I screw that up? I really don`t want to do that again.

25g is way too fine, 23g or 21g is what you need.

Believe it or not, the bevel of the pin should face a certain direction. I do not think that was you problem though. There are 3 spots you can inject with shoulders. Were you tense? sometimes tensing or flexing as the pin goes in can bow it, bend it, and even break it.

You should always draw with one needle and then change and shoot with a new one so its fresh and clean.

I do use a seperate needle to draw and then put on a fresh one. I may have been a bit tense.

I've bent 1.5"s a couple times, but never a 1 incher! If you lean on the pin at an angle (like when trying hard as hell to force gear through a 25g pin) that is probably how it happened. When in awkward spots (hard to reach a shoulder with your opposing hand), try not to twist/lean on the pins... other than excess scar tissue buildup, if you didn't break it, life goes on.
