Whenever i go on cycle i inevitably gain weight and when it comes to pullups this is an increase in intensity. For example pre cycle i might weigh between 85-90kg and can perform 12-13 dead hang chins with slow tempo, but on cycle my weight will quite often go up over 100kg and i will have trouble performing more than 5-6 and my grip/back will fail.

Does anybody else have this trouble, is this really an issue?

It's something that always puzzles me as my strength rockets on most lifts but due to the increase in system weight my chins just suck and i don't achieve the target repetition for maximum hypertrophy.
