    Alertpay

Anyone familiar with this payment method?

Contacted my bank to see what credit card policy would be on international purchases and they told me I would have to verify I would be making the purchase before it was accepted, if not the credit card would be blocked. What do you guys think, is this too risky? Should I make the purchase and then contact them about the block...looking for suggestions on how to play this. Thanks.

Went ahead with the order on alertpay. Then as i thought had to call the bank because it was declined. I had to call and verify that i was making the purchase. During the verification process it said that i was making an online purchase from "online drug store". Not sure I like this... kinda freaking out. Shouldnt the bank just know that I was making a purchase via alertpay?

I used them once and my CC called to verify payment to alertpay also. When I got the CC bill it didn't say anything about what for. Worst part was my the CC was in my wifes name, so she had to verify. I just called back and sounded like a girl who was a heavy smoker and got it done! I don't know if alertpay is a good idea or not, but I like not paying lots of extra money to WU and wasting more time.

Yeah i decided to go with it b/c i didnt feel like paying WU fees. I'm kinda regretting it now though. Did you get the "online drug store" verification too when you called?

MG sucks, WU sucks! Use alert pay, you pay no fees, just verify ur making a overseas purchase, thats all.... If ur trying to hide it from ur wife or girlfriend, what are you going to say when you blow up in 15 weeks or she walks in while giving ur self an injection and you break off a pin in ur ass... Alert pay is the way to go... It shows alert pay on ur statement, and they dont talk to the people in ur bank that you see everyday... Use ur debit or checking card if not a credit card.. they talk to the cc fraud department, and i doubt very highly that the woman in the drive through is part of that department... Alert pay is recommended

I assume though that AP is easier to track and leaves a more obvious paper trail.

I think that WU is popular with many because it is seen as the safer alternative. I have used Alertpay out of convenience, but generally prefer the anonymity of WU, and find the fee to be a small price to pay for this security.
