Serious replies please.
A friend from another(unrelated to bodybuilding) wants to start AAS. He has worked out before and knows his stuff. He has what he wants to run already. He is about 30 lbs overweight(football frame). His question is, as far as calories, if he gets the right amount of protein for his lean body mass estimate, can he restrict calories while on cycle? Will his body use the excess weight as lean mass calories?
I suggested he lose about 20 lbs first, but he wants to start now.

Needs to get into shape and lift consistently for awhile. People want a shortcut, but diet and training first is the way to go.
does he want to grow tits? yep. then yes start juicing now.

Aromatase resides in adipose tissue. The higher his test, the higher his estrogen will be. This will also increase SHBG and leave less testosterone unbound.
Result: poor gains, and gyno.
Tell him to drop 30 lbs, then run a cycle - and to watch the calories while on. He wants to gain, but not too much or he'll just turn into a (jacked) fatass.
