    Pumps

I'm getting these insane pumps on my right shoulder. I first noticed it during the week while doing chest. I haven't done upper body since but I get the pumps while just brushing my teeth. I'm going to stretch it more but is there anything I can do to help it?

What is your interpretation of a pump? It means the muscle gets filled with blood when working out and looks larger. It also feels like its been filled with water. This is whats happening to your shoulder? Perhaps its something else.

I'm not sure but when I work out, I can tell it's pumped and is very painful. I had to take a break and relax my arm the other day to finish my workout. And Pyes, I do need to brush my teeth lighter lol. My dentist says my gums are gone b/c I brush my teeth too hard.

you've got some problems related to soft tissue damage. Go see a doc and ask for an MRI. Ice for now, then switch to heat after.

Man I hope you're wrong. Not trying to offend you by saying that but I HATE being injured, especially my shoulder. It's usually the worst when I go as far down as possible while doing incline and shoulder dumbell presses. It really doesn't bother me as much if I don't come all the way down to the shoulder. If I bring the dumbell down about 70-80% of the way I don't have any pain. I'll ice it, take some ibprofen and workout it out lightly and see how that works. This would suck if I injured myself midway thru cycle!

No offense taken. Get to a doctor and least get a cortisone shot so that you're not in as much pain. Dont train that area with free weights. I'd suggest using lighter weight and working the form.

Are you taking any tbol right now?? Have you ever had back pumps???? I may be way off base (never heard of it in the shoulder), but if you are sure you haven't injured yourself, Try taking some taurine. It may not do anything, or it may work. But as cheap as that supplement is, it may be worth a shot

I agree with juggernaut. I mean if you have health insurance you might as well get it checked out for co-pay price. If not you might considering not training has hard on your shoulder until it heals. The only reason I'm saying that is because I recall you saying that you had an injury there previously. Is that correct?

I got to agree with the others on it being a medical condition. The pumps im talkin about doesn't cause that kind of pain

Yeah I tore a muscle in my right shoulder while doing flys before. It's not the same kind of injury though. Just seems like anytime I use my right shoulder, I get really bad pumps (like blood flowing to it) and it causes a lot of pain. Might be from retaining water, not really sure.

Definitely get to a doc. Also Brandon is right with taurine and pumps. You can get 1000g for like under $10 in bulk. I take 2-5g per day and it def helps with calf and back pumps.

Thanks for the input guys but I'm gonna hold off on seeing a dr for now b/c my health insurance doesn't kick in until January and I'm not certain if it's an injury or but really big pumps causing the pain. Let me see how this week goes in the gym.
