    Shirts and jackets

Do you guys have trouble getting dress shirts and suit jackets to fit properly? I am normally very casual at work and with my friends and family. I have a suit for funerals that doesn't fit right.

This weekend I have to rent a tuxedo for a wedding. The jacket fits my chest and shoulders but it's like a tent around my waist. The shirt fits my neck, but again, it's way too big otherwise. They assume anyone who is big is also fat.

Unfortunately I don't have that problem yet, but I'm sure its a problem in the bodybuilding community. After all we do live in the US where most big people are fat.

Try being a woman in this sport. Pants are too tight in the legs and ass, and too big around the waist. Jackets strangle my armpits - and that's if I can actually get my arms into the sleeves! Blouses and dresses don't fit either. I pretty much have to wear tank-tops and stretch blouses. My tailor and I are very close.

On the plus side, I look better naked than the people who fit into normal clothes.

I haven't seen you naked but I'd have to agree. Especially if those are your abs in your sig.

I am not that big but still find it hard to find a nice designer t shirt.
Most only go to XL and even at that they are more like a tight large.

I know exactly what ur taking about. I was an usher at my sisters wedding and had to rent a tux. They had to pin up the mid section cuz it looked baggy. And she couldn't bring it in too much cuz it wouldn't look right. The woman said not very many guys come in that have such broad shoulders and a slim waist. She said, trust me though, it's not a bad thing.

It can be a b!tch on suits/sport coats for me. I have to buy 52L and have them taken in around 4-6" on the body. I have to buy this big to fit my arms & shoulders, then the body of the jacket is hyooge...

I can't even find normal T-shirts that fit me right. Normally I have to buy a size bigger then I look like a fatass. But that's cool.

My Grandad always told me to wear baggy clothes that way no one knows how big you are. Then when someone steps up just knock them out.

I have this prob too. Jackets and suit coats you have to take to a tailor. They do have dress shirts made for the V shape called "Fitted" in most stores. I have a couple, and they are not quite so big around the waist.

Oh, and @ Built...guys have the same prob trying to squeeze our quads into 32" jeans, it's a joke.

Is that what the "Fitted" thing means? I have a couple fitted shirts from express and banana republic that fit me pretty good. I also find the "Tall" shirts fit me better because I dont have to go up an extra size.

Jeans, shit. Let's not even talk about jeans. I've always had big quads. Normal jeans fit like skinny jeans on me. And then if they fit my legs they are too big in the waist. I just sinch them down with a belt and it pokes the front out. Makes my package look bigger. Lord knows the test gives a little shrinkage.

As of now I'm totally unbig and softer in the middle, but I still have a bit of this problem, (thanks to the gene pool for broad shoulderslol).

Suit shopping, look for athletic fit, they're made to cater to the V shape, might require a little tailoring but not as much..

Shirts, look for modern or athletic fit. Most "fitted" shit is made for the skinnyfat and marathon runners

Just my experience though, good luck kids

I switched to Lucky Brand jeans because the 32's stretch enough or are cut big enough around the thigh for me to get them on Expensive but they last well.

I definitely have this problem with jeans. I ripped through a pair of 501s over the Christmas holiday.

I found that DKNY makes a dress shirt that fits well. It's called "fitted stretch." The 18" neck is not too baggy on my tummy.

Try a TJ Max if you have one locally. I picked up a couple pairs of Lucky's for like $30 per pair. They do fit pretty well. The Levi's 569 are my favorite though.

I need men's jeans that come in a smaller size than 28" - women's jeans always have spandex in them and that makes them fit like crap on my body - they just pull, everywhere - when I stand up, I have to pull the leg openings back down to the floor because they ride up. They're ALWAYS too tight around the thigh, and the straight-leg ones are too tight at the calf, too.

Anyone know of an ultra-low-rise men's jean in a size 26?

It's a challenging process believe me. I have to keep stoppping to straighten my upper body and breathe b/c it feels like an oblique or something is about to tear and a rib is going to break through my chest. Very uncomfortable. And forget delts. That's even worse b/c I can't cross my arm over enough to get adequate aim while keeping the delt relaxed. But I've accepted the results of the products and have to appreciate it for what it is. I'm still too hung up psychologically to pin the quads although it would be a 1000 percent easier.

Hubby pins quads - no trouble at all. Just make sure you don't do it after a hot bath.
