    ALA and orals?

Does anyone have any insight into how ALA effects the use of oral steroids? I'm curious because one of the major effects of ALA is its usage in fighting toxicity in the liver.

i take 1800mg of ALA per day. here is why:

    - ALA helps to normalize blood glucose uptake in diabetics (which i am).

    - ALA aids l-carnitine to cross blood/brain barrier. helps cognitive function & converting fat to fuel (which i take regularly).

    - ALA maxamizes creatine uptake (which i love).

    - ALA supports liver function & aids the healing of a damaged liver (which i think we all could use). my lipids use to be all fucked up and my bile duck was partially obstructed.

that being said, i'm sure many will question the science and demand proof. well, FUCK THEM. this is a message board. you are asking for opinions. well, this is mine opinion, along with many others. take it for what it's worth. i'm not getting into a debate here, like so many love to bait you into. i don't have the time.

i have taken ALA at relative high doses for a long time now. i am no longer medically considered a diabetic. i take NO medicine for it anymore. my last dr. visit (which ironically was just 2 weeks ago) she claimed i was CURED from type 2 diabetes.

i have been off metformin & amaryl for 6 months now and my A1C was 5.8 :-)

to the non-diabetics, that is GOOD! ! !

obviously, i have a good diet and exercise program too, but whatever. . .

    i love ALA.

I used to take ala by itself. Now I have a multi with it in it that I take 3x daily.

    I like it.

Im kinda with Klc9100 on this one. I love ALA and use it every day. No im not a diabetic, but with family history, this is part of my insurance to help prevent me from developing it. I dont use as much as him, but I do use a lot, 1000 to 1300 a day easily. I take this with my creatine too ( Creapure ), but I also take NAC and Liver Juice to help with absorption of the creatine, to help protect the liver and so on.

As far as orals, look into Grapefruit juice. Eric from Primordial Performance has used an extract from the rind to help absorb the new compounds he's developed ( Androseries Project for the uninformed ). Also, taking Grapefruit with certain medications can be dangerous because it ( maybe/supposedly) makes you absorb more of said "orals". Ill hunt down the link where he talks about this in detail.
