    Mystery Lump solved

My previous thread discussed a mysterious flare-up of red swollen sensitive tissue under my right armpit. Doc saw it today. He said it appears to be just a localized infection, cause unknown, but he prescribed heavy strength hydrocortizone cream 2.5%. I just this would be helpful if someone else here happens to get a red swelling under armpit. Doc also said gear is a funny thing b/c it can reduce our immune system in certain ways. If I was not on gear, it's possible my body would've/could've fought off this mystery infection that started about 6 days ago. It went from a sensitive burning-like reddish ball under the skin to some sort of deeper reddish welt/mountain range type of appearance. He said it's not serious and the Rx cream should reduce it quick,. fast and in a hurry. Can't wait b/c working out is a bitch with this thing.

From what you describe that souds very similar to my experience. The first time I went to the DR he said the same thing. I am not trying to scare you but better to err on the safe side.
Did the lump come to a head like a big pimple? but not Pop?
If so being that your GF works at a Nursing home. You may want to get a nasal swab and checked for MRSA.
Also check your nose for crusting too.

That Hibiclens will help reduce any colonization just in case. also your GF should wsh down too. My wife (RN) can carry MRSA not get a blow out. I have had MRSA infections in both knees two different occasions.

Also People who work out in Gyms are very likely to contract MRSA.
