    Insulin discussion

I workout with an NPC amateur & he had just recently completed a slin only cycle and he said he loved the results. He has stopped AAS offseason cycling & now leaves it for his contest prep only. His slin protocol was as follows:

    Humulin R
    Pinned Monday Morning - 7AM 8IUs & again PW 3PM 8IUs
Same schedule Thursday, he ran the slin 2 days a week for 5 weeks.

I always thought slin was pinned 5 days 2 off a week but he was explaining to me that injecting insulin can begin to build insulin resistance, so this how he does it.

His weight went up 12lbs & hasnt gained an inch to his waist.

I havent been on cycle for quite some time and i think i might go this route. Any input?

    This.

I'd invest in a blood sugar monitor and make sure you have glucose tabs on hand, not something I want to take chances with so I can't really help much

I NEVER have nor will I ever agree with the use of insulin as a body building tool. I know several of the guys here may disagree and could possibly inform you on a protocol but using insulin even when necessary is some very risky business let alone for recreational/BB purposes. The risks could never be worth it in my mind. I can expound if you'd like. But please take my advice.

Insulin is not for novices but if you study up on it and really want to use it to get to the next level it can be effective. I am not a fan of the idea of using either and I probably won't ever use it myself. CT is going to be able to give you the best advice on slin. Maybe send him a PM. You have to be careful with slin because your Blood Glucose can drop drastically if you do not eat the carbs properly at the correct time. I think 8ius is way too much to start with. You should probably start with 2ius and work your way up. eat 6-15 grams of carbs per iu of slin. They need to be quick acting like dextrose. You will have to adjust the carbs per iu based on how you react. You will know when you get hypo. You can feel it. Glucose meter is important keep glucose tabs on hand in case of emergency. You also have to watch what other foods you eat . For example you want to use protein while using slin because it will be better uptaked into the muscles but protein can elicit an insulin response naturally so you may need to take some extra carbs to compensate for this. Everyone is different so it is hard to say how you will handle it. If you take in too many carbs you will get fat. All in all if you are not advanced and feel like you absolutely need this to take it to the next level of competition then why use this. Weigh the risks and benefits. It is not for everyone. Think about this before you do it. I think you should learn more before attempting it either way. Talk to CT if you are serious about this.

Unless you have several cycles under your belt and have reached (or come close) to touching your full genetic potential, only then would I think about touching slin. When I noticed my body not really putting on the extra mass, I was used to getting solid gains from a mass bread and butter cycle like test/deca/drol. At the end of the day, I'd only put on maybe 3-4 lbs. at most.

When I tossed HGH/slin/IGF into the mix, I put on close to 20 more lbs. It's dangerous and wouldn't suggest it to anyone. I wouldn't want to feel responsible contributing to someone hurting themselves. This is the main reason I don't chime in on slin threads. If you have a basic question to ask about it, you are probably not ready to use it. Be weary of it's effects....are you competing to but bread on your family's table or do you just want "more"? Many conflicting views on it's use in the BB community.
