Hey guys, I am in the first week of a testosterone cypionate cycle and I have a small problem. I injected 1mL on Thursday in my outer quad, when I woke up today the site was sore, warm, and slightly red. Also, it's not swollen at all yet.
That sounds like an infection to me, but I really do not want to see a doctor about this. This is my first time running gear, so I have no idea if I should wait and see if it goes away or what. Should I put heat on it to help the blood flow? Put ice on it to reduce blood flow? Also, if anyone has had to take oral medication for a infection, please post what med it was.
I would wait 72 hours as long as you don't develop a fever. If it is not better within 72 hours, begins to get worse, or you develop a fever you will need to go to see a doctor right away to get on some antibiotics. Hopefully it will get better. This happened to me the first time I hit quads but it went away. It was irritated. I was using a cheap UGL which I think was the cause of the irritation. Sometimes the hormone can fall out of the suspension and crystalize in the muscle. If you don't get the oil all the way into the muscle sometimes it can get irritated too. Give some time and see what happens. Try not to bother it too much as hard as that is.

IMO one should always have some antibiotics on hand, whether you have a problem that's gear related or not, antibiotics can always come in handy
if you'd like I'll pm you somewhere that you can get just about any kind of antibiotic, I'll delete this if its not allowed but I'd rather not see op get an infection lol
OP.
If its your first injection you may have fucked it up slightly and went sub q or injected to fast...ect.
Sure it will be fine in a few days.
Well, I know I didn't go subQ because I injected at a 90 degree angle to the skin and I don't have hardly any fat on my quad. And I'm pretty sure it got into the muscle because it feels like someone just punched me in the leg.
However, I may have injected too fast. I'm just doing 1mL at a time, so about how long should I take to inject that through a 25G needle?
If its your first run the virgin muscle is pissed. Had a friend who was sore for 3 weeks I think till it stopped. So he described it as getting hit in the leg with a baseball bat. But like I said the pain did eventually stop and he was doing quad shots too. And he is fine so like others have said the fever is key. If you start to spike a fever then it's time to talk to the doc.
Cypionate should not do this unless its dirty or you did a bad inject.

Cyp is the most comfortable ester but enanthate is a close second.

Slow and steady. I use a 25G and it takes me a min or two for a ML I go slowly. Some rather use a bigger gauge and get it in and out.
When using clen the needle gets bigger. Otherwise I'm sitting there with a 25g using it like a tattoo gun. Would like to know what lab this was from also.
Something else, i would inject in my left arse cheek (only my left cheek did this) after about 3 days, i noticed it was really sore to the touch, red, warm, and it hurt to lay on my soft bed, it felt like i had a tennis ball by the left side of my tailbone not anywhere near the inj site. I asked around thinking it might be an infection, and what it turned out to be was injecting to fast and the oil pooled up in one spot and didnt disperse itself out, so it just pulled towards my tailbone and sat there for 6 or 7 days. I iced it for 3 days 20min on 1hr off when i had the chance, and it went away. Dont know if this has anything to do with what your dealing with, just thought i would share just in case.
I think I just injected it too fast. I'm going to try warming it up, and injecting it slowly. Other than that, I think my technique is good.
But if this continues to happen, I'm going to drop it. Maybe get some test from another board sponsor.
Maybe someone more experienced can give a definitive answer, but I've heard its a good idea to heat your gear if you're worried about it's sterility. Pretty much just put the vial in the oven at 200 degrees or so for a half hour. You have to put a pin through the stopper to release pressure, but make sure the tip is in the air pocket and not the oil, or it might spray out. Other than that all you can do really is warm it up before injecting and massage it afterwards.
I injected in my quad once with test from a compounding pharmacy. It hurt like hell felt like someone hit me in the leg with a bat. It went away after about 1 week. I believe as mentioned above it was just a virgin muscle.
