Experienced Cyclers - How many lbs of muscle per cycle?

    Hi guys,

So my past 2 cycles, I seem to be averaging like 5lbs of muscle per cycle.

Of course it was much higher in the beginning.

Anyways, what are the rest of you averaging ? Maybe I need to look at making some modifications to my cycles, or is this just normal as we start getting so many cycles under our belts?

I have probably done a good 7-8 cycles now.

I also seem to lose a good 2-3 reps PER LIFT after switching over to my cruise from my blast. Is this normal ?

It is really all dependant upon your goals, diet and chosen compounds...

If I really want to bulk and eat like a horse, I can put on 10-12lbs of muscle if using tren or deca with test and another oral. Anything more than that would be water or fat gain. Because I keep my gains lean and diet clean, I usually will net btw 5-7lbs of quality muscle while cutting BF%. I recently ended a cycle where I only gained 5lbs, but dropped 2-3% BF.

Ok, that is also what I am doing. Lean bulk and dropping some BF at the same time. I guess that answers that question. Thanks bro.

    Too many variables.

You can gain a ton of weight while bulking, but what % of it is fat and what is muscle?

You can put on 40+lbs in 6 weeks if your diet is on and you use insuiln, doesn't mean it's all muscle.

When you guys are bulking and trying to keep the fat gain down, how much over your maintenance calories are you going? Just curious...

Depends if you're using GH and or T3, that makes a big difference.

To answer the question, everyone is different and there is no "set" number. You have to really pay attention to your body by using mirrors. The way your clothes fit also helps.

Calipers are also helpful, if you know how to use them right.

I agree, I try to keep every cycle clean, with minimal fat, A successful cycle for me, is gaining 5-8lbs of muscle.

On my cruise I lose a bit of strength and reps, but that's a given..

I think if you are judging how much you retain after PCT, five solid pounds of muscle is a good gain, especially for someone who is very muscular to begin with.

CT is right. Use the mirror, how your clothes fit, and a LEGIT BF% measurement to determine your gains. I still get mind fucked when I step on the scale. It's a nice tool to have but it's too variable and fluctuating.

I don't use my scale anymore, at most I'll hop on once a month just to see where I'm at. Mirror is the best reference point imo, you might not gain much weight but if you look better then you're doing something right. Unless you're going for all out bulk and couldn't care less about fat gain, then it's a good idea to step on the scale every few days and see if you're gaining consistently.

I wish I could use calipers right. It would be nice to know my exact body fat.

    COSMED USA, Inc.

I had one of these done last summer. It is shockingly accurate. Down to like 174.3 lb lean mass for example.

It also tells you how many calories you need to eat for maintenance.

Only problem is, if you dont have a discount coupon or something, its like $50

You can only get "kind of close" with calipers. The only true way to have it tested is to be dunked underwater.

^^^True....it's called Hydrostatic Body Fat Testing.

The University close to my home does this for $40.00.

I used to work in a human performance lab and we had a bod pod as well as a water tank. water tank works great if you are comfortable in water and can blow out all your air and stay submerged. Otherwise, the bod pod is easier and just as accurate.

I used a DXA Body Scan from Bodycomp Imaging

Over my last two cycles, I netted a gain of 10 lbs of muscle and dropped 5lbs of fat.
Thought I would do more, but I am happy with my results. Just surprised I didn't gain more muscle, that's all.
