I start pinning tomorrow and my glute was my go to place. I have 23 x 1's and the same in replacement pins for after I draw. Is the 1" too short for the glute unless your ripped? Or should I just play it safe and go w/ the quads...i've read alot of shitty stories about people not being able to walk after that though. Not cool when leg day is Tuesday morning....

Thanks
I use 23g 1" in glutes and 25g 5/8" in quads. I've never had a problem.
23 gauge 1" in glutes all day/any day as long as you're not a fat bastard. I personally increase the pin lenth to 1-1/2" if I am pinning more than 2 ccs in glute just for peace of mind of nice deep penetration of the muscle. Jusy my personal preference.
So that was my first time in my quad, and it hurt a bit more then my glutes ever did. I aspirated but I didn't see any blood, but then after I injected I saw some blood in the syringe. Not gonna worry about it though. All in all it went well. We'll see how the leg feels later this afternoon. Note to self, aspirate a bit longer next time Thanks for the input guys!

I occasionally see blood in the syringe, even after aspirating, never had a problem.

Aspirating is another topic all together. Guys used to never aspirate, then everyone aspirated and would belittled anyone on a forum if they said they don't aspirate.
The truth is, how many times have you ever seen a nurse or doc aspirate when giving you a shot? I bet never. I was in the Marines and we got what seemed like dozens of shots a year. Delts and glutes. I never once saw a corpsman aspirate. Anymore, they deliver some shots with a freaking high pressure shot of air. How do you aspirate air?
Anyway, I used to never aspirate and was fine. I then started aspirating and found it to be a waste of time. Besides, you ever tried aspirating with a 3cc syringe that has 3 cc's of gear in it? Good luck with that.

I should note that I basically have zero fat in my legs and I was injecting 1.5 cc's of gear. If I was injecting more than that or had a higher percentage of fat in or around my thighs, then I would have to agree with Sloppy and say 1" min. But I know what works for me and my body, so that is what I have always used with zero complications.
Awesome info. Yeah, while I was aspirating, I really didn't feel comfortable haha. But doing the quad was a million times better then the glute ever was. And my thigh is low fat and white enough that I can pretty much dodge the veins.
