    Blood Work

I had precycle blood work done today. I got the results for the cholesterol almost instantly (within 10 minutes) and I'm good, but they didn't have the testosterone, thyroid, or estrogen results.

When I talked to the nurse about doing it, I got all kinds of questions about why I wanted it done. I just said I'm 33, and feeling a bit lethargic, and that my dad, grandpa, and uncle are all on HRT, and I wanted to know my numbers in case of any future issues. I don't think she bought it at all.

What do you guys give for reason's on getting checked?

You shouldn't have to give reasons bro. Tell them that you want to get it done cause it's something you want to keep an eye on. Fuck them. You don't have to explain yourself to anyone!

Is this an out of pocket deal? If so, fuck them and their questions.

No, not out of pocket, I needed a reason for insurance billing.

I don't think nurse was trying to bust you, insurances need a reason (diagnosis), they are not gonna pay for "checks". Maybe you could have said you have low libido.

Same thing happened to me bro. I went in a week before my cycle and told them all the tests that i wanted done. When i went in for the follow up to go over the results he only tested for hiv, hepatitis and cholesterol. I was pissed because this is my first cycle and i wanted a baseline for all my levels. Doc said that i don't need to be testing for that stuff at my age.
