"Virgin" muscle. The cherry-popping hurts but it gets better - and even enjoyable - over time. Don't forget, you can always rotate from Quads to Glutes to Delts and this way, you're cutting down on the frequency of pinning one particular area. You can left quad Monday, right quad Thurs. The next week would be glutes, and week after would be delts. It would be three (3) weeks before quads are due up "at bat." In the beginning, this might make sense as to let your body adapt to the initial soreness fo muscle cherry-popping.
