Also, the 16 year old loves this workout. It will take a lot of guidance. And you will need his caloric intake and what are his goals. These guys on this board are waaaaayyyy more knowledgeable than any other board. A wealth of information.

Compound movements are best for that age and just starting out. His best bet is to build a solid foundation of muscle that he can build on in the future.

Deadlifts, Flat Bench, Squats, Cleans, Clean and Press, Leg press, etc...

Agreed stick with the basic compounds and let him get some strength up first, work on his form etc. IMO keep the reps on the high end for a little while and make sure he's got his form down before pushing it too hard. Not sure if there's any truth to this but since he's never really worked out before his stabilizer muscles probably need alot of work before starting to push too heavy or he's more likely to get injured. I've heard full body workouts are better for a complete newbie than putting him on a 4-day split as well.

Here's what I would do, 3x a week full body

    2x squat - 10-12 reps
    2x deadlift -10-12
    2x bench -10-12
    2x overhead press -10-12
2x pullup to failure (assist him if necessary)
    2x row -10-12

kind of sounds like alot but I think he can handle 2 sets of each with 4 days a week of rest. Start dividing it up into push/pull or something like that and add a day as he gets more advanced

For the boy.... I would suggest a MMA gym. That is a great workout for younger kids plus it will teach him some life long lessons ....... Like how to defend himself against a adult that is trying to lure him into the gym.

For you... just buy him a IPhone or a IPad. He will be putty in your hands. The gym thing is just creepy.

In the land of IronMag and all the bullshit we give each other you might want to start with "My son(or whatever) is a 14 year old and am looking for a workout...."

Not the creepy stalker statement above.

No he's my son and he is 14 years old. He is currently a starting 8th grade linebacker and captian of the D and he is going to the ninth grade he will be attending Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and they are currently ranked nationaly look them up. He will be a starter in ninth but he has the talent to dress for varsity games. They have a couple of ninth graders doing that now. I thought I could really get some solid serious info but judging by your answer I won't, least not from you.

I know how to diet for me,but besides that what kind of diet do give a 14 year old kid. My kids don't eat junk all like that the wife and I don't allow that too much what they do eat for snacks are cereal, yogart, bagels I cant keep apples or bannas around. When I cook I make sure my kids get meat, starch, and veggies. My babies eat pretty much rightous. My boy plays basketball, football, and baseball. My daughter plays soccer and volleyball. My ten year old girl swims and track. So I have to make sure they have fuel.

Well he was boxing back home, he started around 7. I trained him and my daughter for about a year then we started hittin the gyms. I would work some of the fighters corners so I could get a pro trainer to work with him. He got into a fight in school last year. Some kid was trying to bully him by pouring juice on his head. He got with the kid and I got a call from the dean saying he was sending him home because he beat the kid and he said he had never seen a kid use his hands like that before. It's funny the mexican kids call him "the kid with the hands"

I see alot of comedians have responded to my post with some disturbing post. I am infamously known on this board for talking MAD shit to people have been threatned to be banned numerous times for saying things to people that have started sh1t with me first but when i talk sh1t back they can't handle it. You can go and look back at some of my post to see what I mean. Now I understand that anyone can tell a BUNCH of LIES ABOUT THEMSELF. But I won't. I am 46 years old I have been cycling on and off since I was 19 years old (that's 27 yrs). My first cycle was ANAVAR. This last cycle was Test-E,Proviron and I kicked started it with some D-bol. My diet has always been pretty much in check for powerlifting without getting too heavy, I have always loved lifting heavy it's a mental thing with me. Bench 325lbs x 4 for sets of 4, Military Press 200lbs x 4 for sets of 4, 110lbs dumbbells x 6 for sets of 4, I don't do squats to tough but I leg press. Leg Presses 415 x at a hard but solid 12 for 3 sets. Now you don't have to believe me but this is not a BULL SHIT stat report. I didn't put that sh1t out there to be VAIN I just wanted you jokesters to understand that I am serious about "DAT IRON" It has BECOME DAMM THERE A WAY OF LIFE FOR A MUTHERFVCKER LIKE ME. My son has dreams of going to the NFL. Now everyone says the chances of making it to the pros are slim but I look at them and say you had dream too. I do know one thing he will get into a college that mom and dad couldn't pay for. I tell my son that lifting weights will help you in just about any sport and will also give you a pleasing body that gilrs like to look at. Oh I forgot to mention those stats are a result of being back in the gym for a year and a half after being off for 5 years and I'm a OOOOLD MAN

Man thank you for your answer man. I have done some research where the rep and set range was in the same range you posted

Wow...my mind doesn't even go there. You must have some experience luring little kids, as evidenced by your IPad/Iphone statement. In light of that, I would have to say that YOU are the creepy one.

I can accept that. I am the joker and people had already give a great workout and Builts diet. So I had to take it some where else.

Post question in training section. As for the workout, pick up a basic book like the Gold's Gym book of bodybuilding and start him on the beginner workout. Keep it simple.

Posts like this make everybody think that you are the 14 year old because that's exactly how 14 year olds act when they dont like something.

People who talk like that seriously fucking annoy me. What a stupid fVcking post

And you're still in an AAS forum asking about a 14 year old's lifting routine. Great logic.

Hey GAYGUY AND VIBRATOR you both sound like GAY RETARTED TWINS. Let me guess you both were born joined at the head and separated with half a brain each, which left you both gay and retarted. Tell your mother and uncle to stop sexing each other and not to make anymore like you two. Now take the strawberry DILDO out your mouths and be quiet.
