    Exclamation BP and my cardiologist...

So I went to my optometrist today because I have had a headache above my right eye, and some blurriness. He took my BP and it was 199/115. I was nervous because of my eye sight and headache so I think I was panicking a little bit when he took it. He came back 15 minutes later and my BP went to 185/105. He was trying not to get me upset, but he was ready to call 911 if it didn't drop! FML.

I keep a BP monitor at home, and I checked it as soon as I got in the door. I did it 5 times and got readings of 143/74 up to 150/80. So yes, it did drop, but I clearly have a problem. I am currently blasting 750mg of Test C

So I have got to schedule an appt. With my cardiologist tmw. Should I come clean with him? I know he will finally drop the hammer and put me on BP meds (I'm totally fine with that), or play it cool and blame it on my 4500 calorie diet? I haven't seen him in over a 18 months, and i have gained over 50lbs since.

    Any ideas?

I blast and cruise, and it was usually in the high 130's to mid 140's. Just the fact it spiked that high during my visit is scary tho...

Those home cuffs are notoriously inaccurate, especially cheap ones. We recommend the brand omron to our cardiac patients.

You gonna drop back your dosage? It might be best to just come clean and let him prescribe you the meds, since you have a family history of high bp you might've needed them eventually anyway. I would think about lowering the test for a while though, and maybe get your rbc/hematocrit checked?

Just go on BP meds, 10 mg/day of Lisinopril is cheap and very effective in dropping your BP. My doctor has told me it also protects the kidneys, though I don't know by what mechanism.

are you taking adex or aromasin to control the estrogen? the estrogen bloat can cause high BP but im sure you already knew that.

otherthan that during my tren eq and test E cycle my bp was too high as well so i took a beta blocker while i was on, and also incorporated hawthorne berry and advance cycle support and its been great for my BP.

the beta blocker i took was metoprolol btw.

Keep in mind that many BP cuffs are meant to fit an arm 7-13 inches in diameter.
If its too small youll get a crazy high but false reading.
THis doesnt mean its not high but that it may be extra high because the cuff didnt properly fit. How big are your arms? I had to buy an extra large cuff for mine and it still only goes to 17....
I have an omron as well.

It also appears that you had a minor case of white coat hypertension.

You could have an extremely high RBC count, which would cause high blood pressure. This is fairly common with long term AAS use. It could be as simple as going down to the blood bank and donating a pint. However, only blood work will truly tell you what is going on. I wish you the best man and please keep me updated. I consider you a friend and am along with you for the ride...

Good luck Bro, but come clean with your Doc. he can't properly diagnose you if he don't know what your up to. And you can always tell him you would like to keep this on the down low and he would probelby respect that to a point. Even tho he will have an opinion that you don't want to hear.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

Reddog, what reason does he NOT have to report this to my insurance company? This is a guy who rips me a new ass if I admit to drinking a 6pack on friday night!!!

Yeah, I wouldn't risk it but you could say that you use pro hormones which are legal. Or you could also say you use bodybuilding supplements. My family doctor is really ignorant on these kinda things, whenever I tell her that I use supplements, she tells me "i hope you are not buying them from drug dealers"

His job is to get you right not judge you for what you do. but thats only my opinion, I don't know the Doc, I just don't think they are all about reporting people to insurance companys. If you are that concerned about this Doc you might need to look for one who is more acceptable of your lifestyle. JMO

That's a really good point. However, I already have this appointment, so I'm not gonna blow it off... especially if he can write me a script today.

Take your BP as soon as you wake up every day before exiting your bed. Use a large cuff.

This should give you a realistic baseline before you get cranked up on caffeine and anxiety.

    Update.

I just got home from my cardiologist. He was concerned with how I gained 50 lbs in 18 months since I last saw him. I explained my diet of 4500 calories a day, and he got so mad. He then asked me if I took steroids... I said no. He asked if I took any injectables, and I said " he'll no, I'm petrified of needles".

He told me to stop eating so much food and shakes. I do agree that being my size is not necessarily healthy, but I'm not gonna stop eating.

He prescribed me to a temporary water pill for a few weeks. I also have to go get two panels done. One for my lipids (this one i know) and also a comprehensive metabolic panel?

    Did I dodge a bullet?

There's nothing wrong with a high calorie diet when it's used by athletes. Did he say why he gave you a water pill?

He just wants to try them for a couple weeks. Its supposed to help control your BP by passing sodium through urine?
