Thread: Serious pain in quad?

Is it swollen also? I don't take chances, don't freak out man go to doc. Some guys say wait it out, but not worth it to me. If you pinned 4 days ago and have a fever i'd say go. Yes there is test flu, and theirs also people sensitive to high BA, but if you have been using that gear without those issues then Doc is next. You will be fine, if its an abscess you do not wanna let it get worse

i had it one other time in my other quad, but my glutes, delts and all them were fine.. so i am thinking its not the gear.. maybe the ba is a lil high.. Antibiotics should just take care of it right.. and what the hell do i tell the doc.. That i am on test?? ha.. gotta figure that out also..

Thats what i do, went in and told doc i do im injections blah blah, she looked at it, and gave me antibiotics, she said i shouldn't do them. Told her thanks for the concern but im not gonna listen lol. If they ask questions (were did u get it) which i doubt dont tell them shit. I did remind them, and asked them about privacy laws first. They can only break those laws if they believe you are a danger to society or yourself, i-e suicidal. Besides ive found that most docs appreciate the honesty. Doesn't have to be the gear for you to get an abscess sometimes it happens ( bad injection, sterile abscess, etc). It's up to you man, it may not be an abscess, but if i get a fever and hot swollen injection site i go to doc. Thats just me though. Good luck man, be smart and safe

if its been that long i would go see the doc. redness could be a sign of infection. if it was just a bad shot, which most of us have done, should be gone in just a copuple days. go have it checked out

yea i was thinking the same..... then hopefully the doc would be like.. well sir, i could prolly get you some reall good shit and sel it to ya cheaper and get it whenever ya want it... how great would that be!

You want to start a course of antibiotics immediately. If you let that infection get too bad, they will have to cut that shit out. I went through that in '02...and trust me, you don't want to go there.

Hey guys, thanks for the advise and talking me into going to the dr.. i was worried what to tell him at first but i just straight up told him what the deal was.. told him what i was doing and he actually even asked me to show him where and go over the procedure with him. So i did and he said it was all good.. Asked me about what i use to clean the area befroe i pin and i told him alcohol, and he recommended Betadine instead. But all in all ... he was cool as shit and never missed a beat when i told him the truth. He actually appreciated it i think... But again thanks to all you guys for the encouragement and advise... oh yea and he said i had a case of Cellulitis, and gave me a course of anibiotics and a topical ointment. Soon as i got home... pinned my delt to go into my 5th week.. gained 12 lbs and increased in all my workouts ..

No pain, no gain boys!!! thanks again guys!

I read that cellulitis maybe caused by external bacteria...

Was the needle and syringe sealed before you using it?

Did you wipe the vial down with the alcohol?

always sterile.. dr said it couldve been on skin.. i used alcohol, but the Betadine is more of deeper cleaner he said. Not sure man.. it couldve been anything.. i kno before i pinned my quad i was debating on pinning my glute but i kept hesitating it and kept changing the pin.. so that may have been the reason.. not sure.. But i got the meds for it now and hopefully it gets better soon so i can get back on the squat rack !
