ok now i know that some of u have experienced this it happens some people more than other just depends on the person and the exertsion but seriously hemoroids(spelling) y is there no info bout this. When i was in college i was just getting into lifting and didnt know proper technique and doing so hurt myself if u know wat i mean. Anyhow it took months to fully recover, not just go away but stay away even when just lifting light. Anyhow now im older and sometimes feel kinda soreness but not full on like it does but do u guys have any prevention techniques or medicines u use. Cant believe i made this thread, try to keep jokes to help ratio just
And lots of fiber in your diet. Even if it's caused from lifting, adding stress from a low fiber diet will make it worse. Lots of legumes, whole grains, fruits and veggies. No animal food has fiber.

I popped 2 discs in my back a few years ago. Prevention now is proper technique and maximum concentration while lifting. If I feel the pain coming back (usually during shoulder exercises) I stop and go home so it doesnt escalate.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how does lifting cause hemorrhoids? Isn't that like inflammation between your butt cheeks?

Are we confusing hernias and hemorrhoids? Or is it just me that's confused? I've never had either one as far as I know so maybe I really don't even know what these are...I've seen preparation H commercials before though so the inference is that it's a butt thang.
haha my bad, I was reading post from my cell phone and was quick on reply.
(BTW hernia is something completely different from popping discs in your back)
A hemmroid is a bulging vein in or around the anus that is caused by too much pressure. A slipped disc is when the discs in between the vertebrae bulges/herniated out and puts pressure on the surrounding nerves.

Can also external or internal. Not something you wanna have, but it's quite common here in the U.S. Anytime you bear down and hold your breath, whether it be on the toilet or lifting, your putting an extreme amount of pressure on your sphincter.
People eat like shit, don't drink water, sit all day and hardly exercise and then they wonder why the have to "push out a kid" to defecate. It isn't quantum physics....

lol I think I've gotten one before from eating too much fat/protein and almost no fiber, probably not enough water either. Never thought it was related to lifting though. Diet's much better now and never have an issue lmao
I will second that on the good diet and proper lifting. Some times that is not enough tho. Ask ur doc to check you out to make sure that it is hemmroids, and not something eles if you are unsure. As this is what happen to me , I was shiting blood profusely, crazy thing it was my first PH run and I was like WTF have I done to myself LOL. We It wasnt the PH after all and not my liver lol like I was thinking. It was hemmriods and pretty bad at that , he put me on some suppository(yeah no fun) Hydrocortisone Acetate 25 mg and in about two weeks all cleared up.They dont pervent you from getting them but its a ant inflammatory and helps control outbreaks for getting worst. And if that don't work its time to go under the knife. Good luck sorry about going in to detail about this but I hope it helps .

When I eat like shit I never get the constipation, I get the shotgun blast of shit out the arse...guess I should be thankful from now on!
damn, feel pretty sorry for those of you guys that get them bad - I'm pretty sure i've had them a few times in the past, but never bad enough to worry or need medication. From what I know about hemorrhoids they don't sound like much fun when you get them badly, and you can definitely burst blood vessels which can easily become inflamed and infected from straining too much during heavy lifting (usually squats, deads, leg press, etc I would assume). I've had what I think was a burst blood vessel or something of the sort going really heavy on deads and losing focus on maintaining contraction in the correct way and just "pushing" as hard as I could - felt like I was gonna shit out my intestines. So for avoidance I would say focus strict contraction, keep weight to where you are pushing but maintaining form, and of course proper diet as mentioned as they are often caused by pressure when taking a dump
thanks guys and its been a long time since i had it bad to where there was blood and bulge(sorry this is gross) but now sometimes after heavy lifting or wrong form with dead lifts or any kinda bending it sometimes becomes sore so just as caution i use some prep h luckly it hasnt been bad like the first time couldnt even sit in peace and shitting omg so painful. Again sorry guys so gross discussion but appreciate it
and ya once u get one ur more likely to have it reoccur later on in life, i also am on medication that creates some constipation which doesnt help but i have to take my med
and as you said in the other arrticle u havent heard much from the bb community bout it this is exactly why i created the title cause no one wants to talkk bout something so embarrasing
Well I'm surprised it isn't commonly discussed. Maybe some guys aren't comfortable talking about it, but me, I don't care. I've been around some nasty, crazy stuff though
Um this "phenomenon" is also the reason why some guys will bust blood vessels in their eyes and had cherry red faces. Thats the built-up pressure going towards your head. Now, take that pressure and point in the opposite direction and that's how guys get hemorrhoids.

I had one a few months back. Thought it had to do with heavy ass deads and leg press. I was wrong, fiber was low(and protein was high). I also had the issue of doing those HARD PUSHES when sitting on the pot.
Used Prep H for about a week, upped my fiber, and stopped forced shitting. Hasnt been back.
