Albuquerque police make steroids bust at Westside home
On Friday, the Albuquerque Police Department said it made one of its largest steroids busts at a Westside home.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 was there when APD arrested Ruben Jaramillo Jr. at his home near Unser Boulevard.
Jaramillo, 37, turned his home into a steroid lab.
"He is huge, probably I would say right now, probably one of the largest trafficking distributions of anabolic steroids from what we are finding in there,” APD Sgt. Patrick Ficke said.
APD went to the home with a warrant but Jaramillo didn’t answer the door, so police entered by force.
APD’s Eastside Narcotics Team found vials of liquid steroids plus it's pill form, in plain sight inside Jaramillo's home.
Most interesting, Jaramillo was making the steroids himself, he even had his own labels, police said.
He also wasn’t shy about his drug dealing.
"Obviously, he's very open, everybody in the household knows what he's doing," Ficke said.
Police said Jaramillo's wife will also face charges but they let her go for now so she could take their teenage daughters to school.
However, APD confiscated Jaramillo’s brand new BMW.
The investigation started when Jaramillo ordered testosterone from China.
Detectives counted nearly 200 steroid vials and 2 kilos of powder anabolic steroid from Jaramillo's home.
Each vial had a street value of $100. Jaramillo didn't want to talk to detectives he asked for a lawyer instead.
Police said Bernalillo County deputies arrested Jaramillo and his wife about a year ago for similar steroid related charges.
Those cases are pending.

Care free people are not helping our cause.
IMO we aren't trying to undercut they system, just better ourselves. We mostly live a healthier lifestyle, tend to be incredibly willing to help others achieve their goals. So why attack us??? The authorities probably aren't so worked about about the steroids as the state of Arizona is about not receiving their share for TAXES!!! The guy probably paid cash for the BMW...I'm sure THAT didn't raise any red flags.

Where are the real drug busts, just wasting tax dollars on steroid busts. What about the meth, heroin, etc that kill people every day and are every where in America.
