In the same spirit as HEAVYIRON...

A few people on here know what I did as a career path.. This is something I wrote while in the first phase of training.

I WILL IGNORE ANY AND ALL PAIN THAT MAY FIND ME. FOR i AM A MACHINE THAT CANNOT BE STOPPED. I WILL NOT LET PAIN NOR INJURY KEEP ME FROM MY GOAL. BOTH ARE WEAKER THAN I. I WILL FIGHT FOR EVERYONE THROUGH ANYTHING, IF NECESSARY I WILL GIVE EVERYTHING. I AM NOTHING WITHOUT A MISSION. I WILL PUT FORTH EVERYTHING SO I CAN BECOME GREAT!

I AM A MACHINE THAT WILL DO ALL THAT IS NEED TO SUCCEED. VICTORY WILL BE MINE.

This got me damn far, and I still use it.

Ask yourself, "how bad do you want it?" You can never become great until you want success more than you want air. I do not long to breathe, I long to be great.

    How so?

Look at it like this... If you tear your bicep, will you stop lifting indefinitely?
you can't let things hold you back.
Do you realize the pain people go through to obtain their goals? Many people think an injury that takes a week, or month to recover is tragic. I ended up with a severe life long injury, and am still looking for a way back into my program.

LB is right. I'm all for pushing thru pain but you have to know a limit. I have an extremely high threshold for pain. When I was younger, I've played thru severely sprained ankles, bad muscle pulls, etc. I realize now that is wasn't a smart thing to do. Keep pushing the limits but stay smart and listen to your body.

    I understand.
If your goal is to hit the stage then you must protect yourself from some things in order to get there...

I wrote that when I wasn't going on stage, but into something I couldn't take breaks, or downtime.
