    Bruise?

I'm on my 3rd week of my cycle, I pinned my left glute on the 22nd of this month and noticed it was a little more tender than the last injection I did but I'm assuming this is normal being my first cycle. Pinned my left glute again yesterday and it felt about the same as the last time but today there's a slight raise to it and it's about the size of a quarter, it isn't unbearable just a little tender and has a slight pink color to the bump but looks more like a bruise around the injection site then anything. I'm pretty sure it's not an abcess because like I said it doesn't really hurt and I've had no tempature change in my body. My concern is what the hell did I do wrong to bruise my ass so I can prevent this from happening again? I'm using Test-e and injecting with a 23 g 1 inch needle. One side note, I'm having a hard time getting my left glute myself since I'm right handed. Any help or advice from the vets in here would be great, thanks guys.

Maybe too short of a needle for the glute and didn't get deep enough..?

I personally like 1.5in needles for glute

Just pin and inject with the left hand...I'm righty as well and don't find it hard to pin and inject left glute with laft hand, it maybe a lil awkward but take your time

I like to use 1.5 in pin as well. Just like bulldog said just use left hand, weird at first but you will adapt.. and if you dont like that there is plenty of other sites to use

Thanks guys I'll try the 1 1/2 inch and see how it goes, I guess I just butchered my ass is why it started to bruise.

you might not have shot deep enough. may have some oil trapped in there. had the same thing happen to me before. just put a heating pad on it, take a warm bath or shower, and help that oil to dissipate. you should be fine.

Moved the needle around too much after you injected or while pushin the plunger..?

This happened to me the first time I did my left glute, but again just take your time...don't try to do everything with your right hand since that will probably just frustrate the hell out of you..lol..

Quads are by far the easiest seeing as you can use both hands.

    Sound advice from both guys

I know newer guys may be hesitant to shoot anywhere but glutes. My first time I had my wife do it all, didn't even want to see the needle LOL. Now I hit it all myself. Much easier that way.

Yeah the needle did move around quite a bit when I did my left glute and like another said I have been a little hesitant to try new spots being a noob and all but I'd rather deal with the anxiety of pinning somewhere different than bruising myself again, I guess you live and learn. Thanks for all the input fellas.
