    Last night at the hospital...

So I have been feeling shitty the last couple day. I have an insanely busy schedule and slepp is at the bottom of my priorities. I also started to run slin post workout. I was at wrk and began to feel very ill and light headed. I went home and continued to feel worse. I was litterally curled up in a ball sweating and shivering. My wife ran me a bath and began to question if I was going hypo. I didnt think this was the case as i had injected at 6 am and this was around 830 pm. So as i sat in the bath shiverring and drinking coke thinking it would help my blood sugar, I had a wave of pain go through my stomach. I jumped up and vomittted harder than I ever have before. This lasted about 20 minutes.
After that episode my wife rushed me to the hospital. I went in and explained what happened and what I was taking. The nurse imediatly checked my blood sugar and it was fine. Thanks god. But I was feeling horrible. I got taken into the dr. he checked me quickly, ordered blood work and an iv imediatly. I began to feel faint. The nurse got the iv going and I felt better very fast. The dr came back an hr later and sat down. He asked what all i was taking, I told him AAS and insulin. He sat for a minute then shook his head. He said that the AAS is not a big deal. Aside from the common sides if taken responsibly and safely as far as clean needles. They are safer than the media would like people to believe. He said its an adult choice to use or not and that I was doing everything right. He was not concerned at all. He then aske "Why the hell are you using that insulin shit." I told him to aid in gaining lean mass. He shook his head and said thats bullshit. It has no role in promoting growth. Its a bodybuilding myth, He said that if it was soo anabolic they would be using it in the medical profession to help in muscle wasting diseases. I was amazed as I have read soo much on it, he was very honest and non judgemental. He even complimented my physique lol! So after I finished the iv and he determined through blood work it was just the flu, he gave me some tylenol 3 a note for work and said good luck. Just wanted to share this as it scared the fucken shit out of me.

    Crazy.

Does that mean you're done using insulin?

Glad you're ok, better take some time off and heal up for a spell.

sorry to hear that bro. I had something similar happen to me a few weeks ago. I got hit with the flu really bad. it started with a fever and the reason I freaked out is because I thought it was an infection from dirty gear. I had a couple lumps from the gear already, so I was pretty sure I had an infection.

I decided to wait until next morning to go to the hospital, but by then I started showing symptoms that you dont get from an infection.

I was pretty sick for 10-12 days. its now been about two weeks since I was sick and I still feel like my cardio has not recovered fully.

feel better bro, and take it easy for a few days.

I'm curious to know though why the doctor said slin is not anabolic?

That sux! A visit to the hospital isn't exactly the most enjoyable way to spend the evening. Glad to hear that you're feeling better now, bro, and that it wasn't your Pancreas or something more serious. But, atleast the doc was cool and not judgmental, sounds like he was even honest with you, too.

I think he may have just meant it's anabolic potential isn't worth the risks associated with using it. It's much easier/safer just to use AAS to achieve the desired effect, and possibly without AAS insulin's anabolic potential is limited. I think it's pretty much confirmed that insulin does have it's benefits to a bb'er though.

Mechanism of insulin's anabolic effect on muscle: measurements of muscle protein synthesis and breakdown using aminoacyl-tRNA and other surrogate measures

Also from the first line of that study "Despite being an anabolic hormone in skeletal muscle, insulin's anticatabolic mechanism in humans remains controversial"

That could be an issue for medical use since most diseases that use AAS for treatment are muscle wasting diseases, so anticatabolism is one of the main goals. Glad it wasn't something more serious though bro and it sounds like you got lucky having a really cool doc

Sorry to hear this brother, get well soon.

Science has proven Insulin to be anabolic. Your doc is ignorant on its role in bodybuilding.

Oh, and buy a glucometer before using Insulin dummy.

Yeah, the doc is just ignorant to insulins anabolic properties. The medical community used to claim that aas didn't build muscle too.

I have read so much about slin being beneficial to you BB's taken with AAS, if I read correctly your Dr. said your blood sugar was good so obviously not a slin issue although he was against using for the purpose you are. My Dr is pretty cool too. He made me get a f-in tetanus shot before he let me leave his office when I told him a was using HGH. I was sore for a month after that shot.

tetanus shots sting just because of whatever shit's in the injection, pinning into muscle doesn't feel like anything though really

D-Lats bro - glad you're on the mend. Even though your blood sugar was fine, I am still way to nervous about the whole aspect of insulin. I will never run it but I don't judge those that do. I do know that fucking up your blood sugar via miscalculation, etc can kill you. I have also read that insulin is one of the most anabolic substances that exists. Good point the Doc made about using it/not using it in cases of Wasting disease but there may be other factors that he is leaving out b/c he knows running slin without physician supervision is very risky and he doesn't want to see you in the hospital morgue. I trust you know what you're doing with the slin as you are the type of guy who researches and gets acclimated with new compounds prior to running them; however, the doctors probably have typical auto-answers to address issues as risky as slin.

Kick that flu's ass and get banging them weights in the meantime.
