    recomp

    Whats up fellas? Not really sure if I should have posted this thread here or in the nutrition section...sort of fits in both categories I guess.

    Anyway, I have googled "recomp cycles" and "recomp diets" so I know a bit about them but would like to know how some of you guys go about doing it and what to expect possibly.

    Stats:
    5'11"
    205 pounds
    13% body fat
    1 previous test only cycle
    (actually got about 6 weeks in two another cycle but stopped it short and and PCT'ing for it now because the test was bullshit. the npp and super dmz were definitely legit though)
    I'd like to run:

    Test Prop @ 150mg EOD Wks 1-8 OR 1-10...not sure
    D bol @ 50mg ED Wks 1-4

    I would have clomid for PCT and Arimidex to take throughout the cycle. I was thinking of taking Adex 0.5 mg EOD..What do you think about that?

    Now as far as eating goes....For those of you that have been successful with "recomping" would you suggest eating at maintenance throughout the cycle? Or maybe a bit above maintenance on workout days and a bit below maintenance on non workout days?

    I wouldn't really try recomping with anything other than tren, IMO you'd be better off doing a lean bulk for the first half of the cycle and cutting for the second half. I don't believe your body is all that efficient at building muscle while burning fat unless some pretty serious androgens are in your blood or you're just starting out and working with an untrained body. If you're a legit 13% (most people underestimate how much bodyfat they have, not saying that's you but just because you can see the outline of your abs doesn't mean you're near 10%) though you're not going to get a whole lot lower without doing a pretty strict cut. Once you hit 10-11% you have to be pretty dedicated to getting lean to drop much lower than that.

    It's the diet.
    After recommendations from Heavy and XYZ, I finally hired a guy to tell me what to eat and when to eat it. I train hard and smart yet I'm still chubby. If you look at heavy's last two recomp cycles, he made incredible gains while burning a ton of fat, and he did it with both tren and without tren. It's the diet.

    I suppose you're right, I just never thought of recomping as an ideal way of doing things. I know I've personally spent plenty of time (not on cycle) eating at maintenance and lifting (unintentionally, just didn't pay much attention to diet when I was a teen) and I basically went nowhere. Even on my first cycle with 500mg test I stalled out a bit towards the end because I wasn't eating enough to match my new weight, I was probably eating dead on at maintenance and not making any positive changes in weight or bodyfat.

    So heavy. What do you suggest as far as eating goes?

    Also, do you think the cycle I listed would be effective for a recomp with the proper diet?

    Carb cycling for the diet.

    Cycle is fine for a recomp. Adex is good. Maybe drop the prop in weeks 9 and 10 and run 100mg winny OR anavar daily to really dry out.

    Heavy do you reccomend recomp cycles or do you think it's better to do separate cut/bulk phases? I've always heard recomping was sort of inefficient and that you'd get better results sticking to one or the other, what's your opinion?

    Re-comps are very difficult. You have to have EVERYTHING dialed in. Sometimes guys will cut and try to add LBM at the same time but the reality is you will likely add little.

    Ideally guys need to pick one goal but sometimes circumstance makes the re-comp the best choice. One of the best ways to add LBM IMHO is coming off a hard diet after getting really lean. Your body is primed to take on the nutrients like a sponge so basically I like to see guys do a cut then move into a bulk.
