how bad is it REALLY to preload pins?

when it comes to preloading pins i probably get a 50/50 split that i hear from people. i'm in a situation where i will be staying away from home. rather than bring my vials of gear i would much rather preload my pins and just dispose of them. i'm doing monday/thurs injections so basically i might need to preload a pin and have the oil sit there for probably 7 days tops.

has anyone ever run into any problems doing this? i have sparingly in the past and never run into a problem myself

edit: i should be more specific and mention that by "problems" im talking about the sterility of the oil after having drawn it into the pin and letting it sit there

I've done it many times with no issues. Just use sterile techniques when drawing and storing.

I've heard gear that contains EO could eat the rubber stopper. That's the only issue I can think of.

I do it all the time, w no problems. I store enough for 1-2 weeks and keep them in a ziplock.

I load mine the night before for my pin in the morning. This saves me a little time before heading off to work. Never preloaded for more than like 12hrs though. Like Heavy said. Keep everything sterile and I dont see any reason why you wouldnt be GTG.

i got .5ml's of sust and 1ml prop in a pin for 4days now, i want to see how long rubber will hold, gona have to take a couple camping with me next weekend. tommorow i'll pin it. i only need to preload 2 for 3 days. i know what you meen , when i started looking this up it was always 50/50. do what i did just store a couple, see if your stuff crashes or rubber leaks. then you know if your gear will hold up to your length of time needed, throw on fresh pin and poke yourself silly!

memorial day weekend i ended up having to have a pin preloaded for 4 days and it worked out fine

I dont know why you guys are worried about the rubber. Just store them needle side down. Pull back a bit so there is air between the gear and the stopper.

I pre load 6 at a time, put them all in a zip lock baggy, then carefully wrap the excess bag around the pins and drop 'em in a toilet paper roll so they stay upright

this^^^ know what solvents and cosolvents are in your gear.. heat will speed the process of degradation of rubber also.... if you keep them fairly cool, and your solvents are ok, should be gtg.......
