Thread: Red(ish) swelling but not at injection site? HELP ?

so i pinned on friday. my right delt.
1 ml test e. (250mg)
some pip afterwards but nothing bad.
i rubbed it out and worked out a little bit.
the next day i woke up everything was fine just a little pain.
i worked my arms just a little but to help disperse the test.
took the family to the fair and got home around 8 at night..
when i took my shirt off i seen some redness below the injection site (4 inches) and a little bit of a swell.
i used a heating pad last night for about 20 mins and went to bed.
i took 800mg of ibuprofen both night and just took 800mg now.

today i worked my arms a little to help.. i thought.
i seen that the swelling went down a little bit but the redness is still there. (6 inches now tho but lighter)
everyones telling me that its just the test not dispersing all the way.
no flu..
its a little warm..
a little sore.. yesterday it was worse today its not as bad.

should i be worried?
my wife (shes an RN)did my pin she does them all.. everything was done right.
i used 1in 23g syringe.
we have some amoxicillin.

when my wife did my delt she said it felt like i had some scar tissue there.
i rotate my quads to delts.. now going to do glutes.

ive pinned the right delt 8 day prior to this.. was it too soon? it wasnt sore so i thought i was in the clear.

any help would be appreciated..

sounds like you got the oil between two muscle bellies and it is kinda stuck there and possibly 'running down into the upper arm'... this happens on occasion if you get the needle in just the right spot(actually just the wrong spot, but you know what I mean).. it will take much longer than normal to disperse if this is the case because it is lying outside the fascia of the muscle.... if it isn't gone or gets hot to the touch within a week, I would start on antibiotics.... it can cause what starts as a sterile abscess and turn into cellulitis(which is an infection).. keep an eye on it, good luck... generally, using a longer needle and making the injection EXACTLY at a 90 degree angle to the peak of the outer part of the lateral delt will keep this from happening(but it CAN happen on rare occasion anyway)....
