    Muscle dysmorphia

I'm not sure if this is posted in right place so please move if needed..

yeah basically how many people think they have muscle dysmorphia? I get told quite a lot "you don't want to get any bigger you will look horrible" ect mainly by my family and friends .. I moved out of town and in with my girlfriend and every time I'm back there's some comments made about me getting to big.. I only joined a gym 3 years ago I was built like a fucking stick insect was one of those kids who could eat every type of junk food and not put a pound on.. I'm still the same to this day to a certain extent.

Anyway Sometimes I actually think people are taking the piss with these comments (paranoia) in my head Iv literally just got my foot In the door I'm starting to see the shape I want but in terms of pure muscle mass I've got years to go..

I'm just rambling really I know no1 gives a shit lol but I find it weird when people say this to me and all I see in the mirror is a skinny fucked still not as skinny but I still got long way to go.

Anyway what's ur thoughts on muscle dysmorphia?

I was the same way growing up. The tall skinny kid. Now I'm alot bigger then I was. I was 6ft and weighed 165 my junior year. Since then I was up to about 220-225 before my injury and I still looked in the mirror and thought I was too small. Now that I dropped a ton of mass due to not being able to train it's a complete mind fuck sometimes. But it gives me the drive I need to hit that shit hard and dedicate myself. Use it as fuel bro. Then when u get compliments u feel damn good. Like uve accomplished something

I think once you lose some gains you have it in your head that "I was bigger than this so I must be small now" even though you might still be a big person.

I think we're all the same when it comes to this. We really don't see ourselves as we are. I get it all the time from family, friends, fiance and complete strangers.

    I'm 260 and feel 180. I'm really not big either. Prob cut to 235-240. I'm 6'2. I won't be happy about it

I think not wanting to look like azza makes all of us train harder.

Depends on how drastically you change your body. When I've got pretty lean I used to hear from my mom how I look unhealthy...heard from guys I looked like I was on steroids...girls liked it or they didn't...me I always felt like I was so far from what I wanted. I've never been satisfied with my body even when I know I was at my best....I just hope my best is yet to come, and I recognize it.

I am only 5'9 and I was happy with myself when I was 172 lbs and < 7% BF. I've never cared much for the bulky look. I prefer low BF and just nice muscle definition. I'm just now getting over a shoulder injury for the past 6 months. Just now bout to start my next cycle to try and get back to where I was.

^^^i was out for awhile because of a shoulder injury also. I felt I looked the best at 215 and sub 10% bf but I was more comfortable at a slightly higher bf and 220-225

I don't think juice has everything to do with it, with every person... I had it the minute I started working out! I started gaining fairly quickly from the meager 130-135lbs(at 5'11" tall) that I was when I was 20 years old.... I was immediately hooked... I thought, when I hit 150lbs I'll be as big as I want to get.. then as Im nearing 150, I'm telling myself, 170, that's all I need to be.. then 180, then 200... then 215.. etc, etc...

I hit 211 without touching juice(or PH's)... This wasn't enough for me, I wanted to be 225.. That's when I did my first cycle... I hit 235 within 7 weeks, and was not satisfied... I had a goal of 260 before long.. hit that goal, then realized that I was putting on muscle FAR quicker than my lungs could keep up with!!! I couldn't walk up three stairs without gasping for air!!! I pulled it back down to a VERY lean 245, and was happy with that for YEARS!... Now, I'm looking to hit that 260 mark again, and eventually surpass it... slower this time, though(surpassing it.... ) That way I'm not so uncomfortable at the higher weight...

I think we all have muscle dismorphia, and some of us just have a screwed up view of how we REALLY look(some think they are 'jacked and lean', when they are barely any bigger than a 'normal'(non-lifter), just puffy and fat(from all the dbol they are eating..lol)).... I don't know how much is attributed to juice, I'm sure in some it is more than others.. I know I had it LONG before I ever touched juice, and I'll probably have it till the day I die....

I don't think there's anything majorly wrong with it, as long as you aren't making completely stupid decisions to try to get bigger... Putting your health at risk is not a very good way of going about getting bigger.... but there are always some degree of risk with everything we do... So, keep it to the lowest risk point possible, while attaining your goals(doing bbing comps is EXTREMELY hard on your body... but some of us still do it, I'm guilty of it...).. You have to concede a little in order to do things like bodybuilding comps... but you can try to keep risks to a minimum.. I guess that is the main point of my argument.. As long as you don't let your 'dysmorphia' effect your overall health to a great degree.. go for it! Get as big as you want!!!

I still feel like Im too small and dont look as good as I want to....
but at same time think I look better then half the people out there(not saying much though). still got YEARS of work to do here.
My family says I should stop trying to get bigger, but to me I'm MAYBE half way.

Yup lol. I set my goal at 210 and single dig bf awhile back. Then when I hit that I wanted 220 then when I hit that I wanted 230 unfortunately when i got close I fell off a roof and chipped my elbow and dislocated my shoulder lol. I think when and if I hit 230-240 at a decent bf of say 10-12 ill be happy.....for a little while atleast lol
