I was just thinking about this... Many abnormally tall people are that way because of an overactive thyroid. Because cytomel increases thyroid output, if you're still growing and take T3, will that help boost your growth?

don't mean to hog your thread , but would this also mean that cytomel use in lean ectomorphs with already fast metabolisms is a bad idea?

Where did that information come from? I've never heard of that.

T3 raises SHBG which soaks up testosterone, which could indirectly mean lower aromatase conversion which would keep the plates open longer. If your plates are shut you aren't going go grow on drugs alone.

T3 is not used in children for growing that I've ever heard.

Thyroid hormone has a powerful influence on growth. With a thyroid hormone deficit - hypothyroidism - growth slows, bones don't mature, and puberty is delayed. You might have been 14 when the thyroid hormone deficiency was discovered, but it could have occurred at a younger age.

Once the missing hormone is supplied in pill form, growth returns to normal. However, if the deficit has been there for a very long time, you might not be able to attain your genetically determined adult height. At most, you could be 2.8 inches shorter than your programmed height.

Let me also add that you are not past the age when growth stops. In return, because of the changes the thyroid enhances or prevents, with improper dosages you could end up taller than expected.
