One of the personal trainers at my gym has been trying to get his pro card for some time, he is 38 and placed 2nd in the Masters and 3rd in the superheavyweight class at his last competition. I think this is his year that he will get pro status to compete in the Master's division in the IFBB.
From what i heard he spent around $5000 on steroids just to get ready for the show.

I just want to know what they're thinkin' in the nursing homes later in life when they consider the costs of maintaining their bodies at 30% over their genetic muscle carrying potential and then (as many do) quiting training cold turkey and takin' a 1way ticket to flab. EX: a HS Chem teacher about 6-7yrs ago that I knew (former card carrier) 55yrs old 380-400lbs @ 5'10", and 2 canes so he could balance himself and walk.
Sad shtuff, and that was b4 our current BB mentality of freakish is better.
