Partially true, but even looking at football for example you have guys going from a 5 second bench press to barely over a second with MORE weight.

    You can train for it.

I'm not saying a 400 pound sloth is going to become a 100m record holder, but to say that you can't improve is bullshit.

true. I mean say you have a guy that is naturally big with fat. born big and big all his life. he then starts training and works out then gets faster as the pounds drop. i mean seriously which i easier to run 100m with just you, or go military and do it with your bud on your back.

    Regarding a cycle of speed:

I usually run it about 4-6 weeks followed by proper pct

all im sayn is speed can be tweaked and you can get slightly fast from training, if your not naturaly girfted you can not become fast, you can maybe become average speed but no more than that

I agree totally. You can train for speed. Some people how very fast hands. That doesn't mean that they can't get faster by utilizing some type of training method. If you think not, then why do all the football teams pay tons of money for the training coaches. They hire them to help there athletes with conditioning, strength and SPEED. End of story.

How the fuck would you know? I bet every lineman in the NFL could fuckin leave you in the dust. And that's with them in full gear and you in a tank top and shorts. You CAN train to get faster you just have to know how to properly train. I'm sure with the right training, anabolics could improve on that as well...

it is all relative. whos to say that if you "train" all you are doing is becoming as fast as you were genetically programed to be. but instead of eating right your whole life you chose to eat McDonalds and stuff your face with apple pies. Now that you are eating right and doing proper workouts you r unlocking your full genetic potential and thinking you r becoming faster when you r just becoming what you were supposed to be in the first place.

Sure they do. Have you never played football? How you never watch ESPN sports? Do you think they only hire professional trainers for the running backs? Some of those linemen could probably out run half the guys on this site and it's not cause 100% of them were born with special genectics. Get a grip on yourself. END OF STORY......

Exactly, to say that you can't is like saying you can't train for strength. Patrick for example has posted info on Olympic lifters being faster than world class sprinters for the first 10 meters, that is achieved through EXPLOSIVE training.

If you couldn't train for speed then sprinters wouldn't do shit in the offseason, nor would there be such a thing as "football practice" if you either can or can't do it.

You can "school" the body, you may not become world class but you can make changes.
