    Needle-free, Get-Bigger-Quicker, product for NooB?

I'm cutting at the moment (and have been for 3mo) in preparation of a bulking cycle to begin in April. I'm 33yrs old, 6'2" and currently 179lb (approx 11%bf). I've basically been skinny my whole life. For the past year I've had a friend living with me (helping him relocate) and we've drank quite a few beers! I gained a little fat around my tummy (the gym said I was 19%bf 3mo ago, but I don't know how accurate that really was) and I made up my mind to get rid of it.

The first time I ever stepped foot in a gym was three months ago. Since then I've been really into it. I started tracking what I ate daily and was atonished to find out that I only ever ate 1300-1800 calories a day. Far too little. I bought BurnThefat-FeedTheMuscle, read it cover to cover (plus a few other books) and implemented everything I could into my daily life. This is definitely a lifestyle change for me. I never knew any of this stuff before. Now I do, I whole-heartedly plan to live this way... forever.

I now eat 2000 calories every day (remember, I'm currently still cutting); 50:40:10 Carb:Protein:Fat. I quit smoking (2mo ago) cold-turkey after 20 years (and I'm never going back!). I eat six times daily; lean protein & carbs with every meal. I phase out the starchy carbs for meals 5&6. I run 20miles a week (4 x 5mile runs) and pump weights for 4 hours (4 x 1hr sessions Mon-Fri) each week. I feel 100% better than I ever have and I'm lovin' it!

    Now... Here's the thing...

In April, when I change my diet to a calorie surplus, I'm going to reduce the cardio, use bigger weights, rest more and anything else I can to get bigger ASAP (I'm an impatient kinda guy! That's just me. Get over it!).

My wife would go balistic if I started reading up on Steroids and having needles shipped to the house. Plus, I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to pain and I've read a lot of pain-stories associated with beginner steroid use.

    So what can I do?

If I want to do more than just eat right, use some supplements, weight-train (hard!), rest and be patient, but I don't want to be injecting roids, what can I do?

Are there any pills, liquids, powders, drugs or whatever... that I could take to stimulate growth?

This isn't something I plan do use forever, but for my first bulking cycle I'd really like to see some significant (or at least "easily noticable" results).

Please don't start telling me... "Just be patient", "It'll come" and B.S. like that. I know all that. I know it'll come (eventually) just with hard work and a good diet. I also know that many of you think "If you use pills/drugs/etc.. then you're cheating". Well, whatever! It's my body.

If I want to risk some potential health issues (if I even need to) to get a quick-start to muscle growth what would you suggest? Anything jumping to mind?

I don't know much about steroids, but if your a beginner, I would definitely recommend stick to the training, good diet, and legal supps before you dive into them. They can be great for people with knowledge on them and lots of experience in working out.

I guess you're right. I was hoping to find something that'd make me bigger a bit quicker than I would otherwise but; I don't want to die, I don't want to go to jail, I don't want to get sick and I don't really want to risk f*&^ing up my body before I even get started building it up.

I guess there's nothing more to say. Shame though.

Even with steriods, diet and training are the key. Take them away and you still have nothing.

    ABCs - Fair enough.

    GoAndy - Got it.

dg806 - I have the diet and the training under control. Maybe you should lay off the steroids yourself if you weren't able to deduce that from my first post. Kidding.

Thanks all. I'm off to eat a boiled egg!

I didn't mean that to sound negative, but in all honestly, at 6'2" and 179, your diet is far from ideal unless you want to be very thin.
Actually you should be thankful for a high metabolism.

It didn't sound negative. I was just pulling your chain. I appreciate the feedback.

    Here's the story...

    In Oct'06 I was 182lb & 19%bf. Now, in Feb, I'm 179lb and 11%bf.

My plan (which is written on a goal card I read 3x daily, or more) has always been to start bulking in April. I planned to be 10%bf by then, but it looks like I'll surpass that.

I'm not having any problems maintaining the diet, or the excercise. I have thrown down a few beers recently, but nothing that would put the total daily calories or even the protein intake out of whack.

Right now I'm still planning to start my bulk on Apr 1st. I'm just interested to see how lean I can get by then.

I've never had a six pack in my life. I've never been fat. I've just always been tall, skinny and probably around 12%bf (Not herion-addict skinny! But certainly thin.). I'd never even been to a gym until 3½ months ago. Don't get me wrong... I've always been athletic. I can't sit still. I drive my wife nuts because I can rarely make it through a movie without pacing about, or wandering off to actually DO something (rather than stare at the "Ol' Goggle Box" a.k.a. T.V!!).

After joining the gym, reading BFFM and several other books, I'm now completely hooked. I honestly believe I could live like this forever. I enjoy eating every three hours. I never did like greasy/junk food anyway, so that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I love chicken, fish, good quality lean steaks. I'd never tried sweet potatoes (other than the nasty marshmallow ones they serve at Thx-Giving) but I just love them roasted. Add some broccolli, asparagus, green beans and maybe a small salad with lemon juice as a dressing, and I'm as happy as a fly on sh!t.

I am mainly interested to know how big I can get and how quickly it can happen once I start my bulking diet. Like I said, I've never been big, so this is like an adventure for me. Hopefully, within a year or two, old friends will be blown away by how muscular I've gotten, rather than how fat my bulking diet has made me!

    Time will tell.

Since this is your first real bulk, steroids truly aren't an option. Try venturing into the stronger legal supplements first. When your more experienced, then start looking into other options. Right now it seems you've got the right mindset and the right diet. Get the right training program and possibly a couple supplements and you are on your way.

Forget about food these guys don't know what there talking about. You need to get THE STRAP!

    http://www.mysupplementstore.com/strapbyfizogen.html

To train at the high intensity level required to become a 4 time UFC Champion, I must always incorporate new strategies and research into my training regimen. Learning about new and innovative technologies, training techniques and dieting methods has enabled me to remain at the top level of my sport at 42 years of age. Performance enhancement through bio-energy technologies, including acupressure, has always played a big part of my competitive career to help fix and prime my body.

The Strap is an innovation that taps this bio-energy technology with strength and balance effects that can be instantly felt! The performance enhancement effects are so extreme, it just doesn't seem to be real. The Strap is definitely something I would highly recommend to anyone. I'm sure the guys back in training camp will be fighting to get their hands on one once I test them!"

Your might be right! Could it be that the only reason Randy "The Natural" Couture lost to Chuck was that he was not able to wear the strap during the fights, while Chuck was fueled by the powerful Xyience Sups that gave him super human power.

Trust me get one Fast cause I heard the FDA is going to ban them soon. Just to powerfull!

The Strap utilizes specialized quantum physics, geometry and vibration harnessing technologies to help synergize the power of the human body's bio-energy system and allows it to run with optimum performance. Known as chi, or life force, energy flowing through meridian points in some cultures, The Strap technology actually helps to repel interference frequencies that block the free flow of this energy throughout the body
