    would steroids equal fat loss?

If putting on lean mass equals more calories burnt then wouldn't doing a cycle help with fat loss?

The short answer would be YES, but before some disagree wiht me, think about it...300mg of test a week on a cut, comapred to none, would make a huge difference IF your diet and workouts are right.

If you took them and changed NOTHING else in your diet and training, then yes. You would partition more calories toward muscle and less toward fat. Slowly.

For the record, the excess muscle you carry doesn't burn that many more calories. The bigger deal is in the partitioning.
