Damn... I assume you were on one of the tours? That's pretty cool.
Nope. I snuck onto the set.
I was there all day long. It was during the filming of the episode where a kid's parents are killed and he latches onto Data as a surrogate parent.
Sadly, the command chairs were out being upholstered. I did get it sit at ops and conn. I also went to the transporter room, captain's office, conference room, and alien landscape (caves).
I couldn't go to engineering because that's where they were filming. And the ramps on each side of the weapons station (behind the command chairs) was plywood. It bounced when I walked on it.
The "stars" in the view ports where clear crystals on black felt.

Wow! Sounds like a fantasy world. I'm hoping you snuck in with someone and took silly pictures, am I right?

I was too poor to afford a camera. Or to get the pictures developed. Keep in mind that this adventure predates digital cameras for consumers. I was just 20 years old. I didn't plan it. I just woke up one morning and decided to go.
It was awesome though.
What's even funnier is that two people found out that I was there illegally. An electrician, who told me not to damage anything and not to get caught. A mailroom runner (transferring mail via bicycles), who gave me a map to the studios and told me where I could go to get free food for lunch (muffins, bagels, and fruit located in a lounge). The mailroom runner even marked the three stages where Star Trek was being filmed. I can't remember if it was stages 4 & 5 or stages 8 & 9, and stage 24 (where the alien landscape and a piece of hallway was).
I saw Patrick Stuart in an SUV and meet Brent Spiner's stunt double.

This story keeps getting better and better. Very bold, sir, and very sneaky.
This you DOMS?
Brent Spiner had a stunt double? WTH has he doing? Do you remember which episode it was.
