The coat is long gone, but years ago I visited my uncle on my motorcycle. Arrived at his home in a t-shirt and by evening the temps had dropped enough for me to ask him if he had a spare jacket. He pulled that fine looking garment out of the closet. It was a little snug and so I pulled the sleeves up and made a goofy face which my uncle snapped for humor value.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes, I did go out in public, but I was zipping by on a motorcycle so I'm guessing few got a really good look.
