Published on Dec 27, 2012 Meet Dusty Tuckness from Meeteetse, Wyo., voted by his peers as the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's Bullfighter of the Year for his third straight year. Even after a shoulder injury kept him out of the ring for two months. (Dec. 27)
my aunt had big bulls and they were gentle giants. yes they did kill some and use the meat but this rodeo torture is nothing but detestable. that rodeo clown is no hero. he is an idiot with no education trying to earn a buck. ya know... ya know... ya know... ya know...
go to school clown boy.

people who lack compassion for animals are more likely to hold on to their compassion for humans??? nigga please.
serial killers torture animals then go on to kill people. being unmoved by the suffering of an animal is a sign of being disturbed. some of the animal rights crowd are complete fruitcakes but it's a long walk from here, normal compassion, to there.
Rodeo bulls eat and fuck for a living except for the 8 seconds a month that they are in a rodro arena if not for that id have ordered one at some chophouse by now...just sayin
The sort of people who complain about oil being $60 per barrel are often the sort who buy bottled water without a second thought.
For example. if you buy water by the case from Staples, you pay $6.59 for 24 half liter bottles, and folks will talk about what a great deal they got. But, there are just over 318 of those bottles in a 42 gallon barrel, which puts bottled water at $87.35 per barrel. The retail price would, of course, be much higher.
I posted about the absurdities of this a few days ago and linked to a post from Chase Me Ladies, I'm In the Cavalry that noted that HP Inkjet ink would cost just under $500,000.
I've got that beat.
Frequent commenter dearieme suggested I look into the cost of semen from bulls and stallions. I asked my vet about this, as well as Brian Gongol - who directed me to a number of sites like this one where bull semen can be purchased.
The standard unit of this is the straw. The cheapest straws run for around $12, good ones are in the $25-40 range, and they apparently run up to $200.
A straw is half a mililiter. A teaspoon is 5 mililters, and a (fluid) ounce is a bit less than 30. So, 60 or so straws to a (fluid) ounce makes even the cheapest bull semes more expensive than gold. There's probably a reason for that ... but I don't wanna' know.
Anyway, this site does conversions between units, and says that a barrel has 158,987 mililiters is it. That puts the price of a barrel of bull semen at some $3,800,000 for the cheap stuff, $8-12 million for the good stuff, and just under $ 65 million for the cream of the crop.

when a valuable bull is injured or dying the sop is to collect semen before they even treat the injury. they will even harvest it from dead bulls by putting an electric rod in their ass.

my kids like to play with their food, I dont see why adults cant. We have bigger problems than worrying about cruelty to veal.
first half was a joke, sarcasm if you will. second half is just honesty. When I shoot an animal I do feel a little sadness for them, especially if the shot wasnt clean. Does that make me an awefull person.
LW are you a vegatarian, or Vegan, I dont have a problem with that, but if you arent than you are consuming these very same animals that people feel we need to protect from cruelty. I dont like animal cruelty but I also think we have bigger problems than rodeos, which I personally think are dumb but hey to each their own.
i grew up on deer meat and most hunters i know pride themselves on efficient kill shots. my stepfather never hunted again after he had to stay with a gut shot doe while i ran home for more bullets. by the time i got back with my mom he was a mess n my mom had to gut it. not sure why he didn't take more bullets maybe because most years he never even saw one... if you're going to eat an animal fine but the abuses happening at rodeos go beyond reasonable.

cool, just wondering, I was never into it, just tried it cause I had an uncle and cousin that are big time hunters. Plus I really suck at it. I'd rather just go to ralphs and by a steak. Not alot of hunters in SoCal, if you drive thru malibu / calabasas you'll see 50 deer just chilling on the side of the road but guys will hike and camp out in the woods hoping to get one cracks me up.
