New York City homicides, shootings at modern record lows - U.S. News
Homicides and shootings in New York are at their lowest in a half-century, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Friday.
Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly credited stepped-up policing for the 19.6 percent drop in homicides (from 515 last year to 414 through Friday) and the 15.9 percent decline in overall shootings (from 1,608 last year to 1,353).
That's the fewest homicides since the city started keeping such statistics in 1963, and it's dramatically lower than the record high of 2,245 set in 1990.
The most recent FBI figures show that homicides have been falling in most major cities in recent years...
but we are supposed to think things are getting worse? why is that?

i heard they will arm inmates, cause they might be able to stop riots happening if they only had guns also......

well if you give inmates guns in a contained environment i think the recidivism rate on the outside will go way down as prison graveyards become full.

If gunners were as violent as anti-gunners believe, logically there wouldn't be any anti-gunners left.

A couple of years ago I went to buy some .223 rounds and 12 gau shells. I had to go to two stores to get what I wanted, and in both stores were assholes touting how Obama was going to take all the guns, how Obama was going to take all the ammo.
The owner of one store just smiled, the owner of the other store said "Im having my best year ever" and all during that time not a peep out of the federal government to restrict gun ownership. In fact under Obama gun laws have relaxed by allowing guns in to national parks.

That's true about the minimally relaxed gun laws. But now things aren't looking so good. I don't think they will actually ban anything because there are so many out there and so many owners that won't surrender their firearms, me being one, but they are going to push hard from all sides. Don't give them an inch.

Good luck trying find ammo. Everywhere is sold out.
