I've been looking for info on IM injection tips? Can anyone help? Shots to be taken in the azz.

What is aspirating?

Tips for what to do if hitting a vein or nerve?

Aspirating is pulling back on the plunger after you have inserted the needle. (technically means to suck in) (seeing air bubbles in the barrel is a good sign) Also, it's hard to hit veins and nerves in the butt. I never have. Steady hands.

1. alcohol swab the area.
2. insert needle
3. aspirate
4. inject
5. withdrawl

And if blood spirts out and it happends oh well clot and wipe clean with alcohol.
