View Full Version : 4 Days out from my first bench meet

Im 4 days out, meet is saturday the 10th.
Pretty nervous, my weight keeps floating 241-244.5
Im in early stages of water cycle with today being the first day. Really hoping I am able to compete in 242 open. It is a raw meet, shooting for 355-60, 405, 435 idk yet. Got 405 for 6 with a pause my last heavy day.

Any tips for shedding lbs? I am as green as can be, got talked into it by a few gym buddies.........

Cut all food and water at 6pm and do not eat till you get on the scale. As soon as you get off it start pounding The Pedialyte and eat tons of carbs!

How long before the meet is the weigh ins? 24,12 or 2?

Also if you are still workin out stop! Now! On the norm you want 5-7 days off before a meet.

I have 2 hrs between weigh in and meet. 10am weigh in and lifting starts at 12. A buddy at the gym told me to water cycle, i already hit a gallon a day but he said go for atleast 2 gallons until friday and then cut it down to like 60oz on friday.

I wouldn't go that far... With only a 2hr weigh in you don't want to get too dehydrated and blow the meet. If you do the water cycle, after you get off the scale you need to pound liquids....

Do this for recomp.
Get 2 Pedialytes put 2scoops of powdered carbs in each of them and also put 5-7 packs of table sugar in them and pound 1 asap after your off scale, then drink the other up till you start the meet. After squat eat solid food.
