It is kind of a mixed post that covers a few areas so I thought I'd put it here as this is the base problem area.

From Desert Storm's anthrax vaccination I developed hypogonadism, sleep apnea, insulin/metabolic resistance, and chronic fatigue. None of which was really diagnosed or dealt with until a few years back. I'd gone from being deployed at 180 lbs to jumping up to 250 in 6 months and haven't been under 225 since.

My test has been down in the 100 range since it's first test back in 2003-4 and being stubborn and proud I didn't take the shots as prescribed, just kind of randomly and intermittently.

I'm waiting on my recent labs from the VA so I can't post numbers yet. Actually I will ask them to redo them as from what I've learned here I haven't even been tested for half of what I need to know.

I'm currently at 295 lbs, 6 ft, 44% bf even at 1000-1800 calories/day mainly fat/protien according to the sparkpeople app. I've had a trainer at the gym for a year though I was only making it when I had appointments. I am now at a MMA gym doing thai boxing 5 hours a week and having a blast with it.
I am planning a 3/week lifting schedule and 3-5 hrs in the boxing routine.
I'm prescribed 200 test cy every 2 weeks and I'm going to request 400/week or at least 200 from the doc.
The VA doesn't allow them to write for HCG or AI's so I picked up some fromeron for the AI and have HCG on the way.

I love the fromeron I started feeling it the 3rd day, my thoughts cleared up, more energy and focus, great workouts. I'm applying it to the scalp as there and the armpits are the best absorption spots on the body. Interestingly it seems to be helping with the dermatitis from the test on my scalp.

If i don't eat carbs I don't gain weight, yet since I quit smoking 1.5 years ago I gained 30lbs and it won't go away even though I'm at the calorie intake of a 120lb girl.

I've finally accepted I'm going to have to TRT forever and now I'm thinking since I'm there anyways might as well jack it up and get my stud back on.

I'm also doing some testing for a partial VA disability so I can't go too crazy until after that is done.

Low test causing insulin resistance along with years of Mt Dew by the case in my younger years to stay away with the sleep apnea has things a mess.

I'm almost thinking that I've been lower calorie for so long as crazy as it sounds maybe I need to do a mass cycle to bring my systems out of hibernation to enable me to lose normally again. A modified Paleo/warrior diet of 3 days underfeeding, 2 days massive overfeeding. I want to be me again not the stay puff marshmallow. I do have ok muscle mass still from my heavy lifting days.

For muscle I want functional strength with joints and strong tendons, size is nice, just not my main priority. I'm not sure what I'll add with the workouts other than the 200 test, 250 hcgx2wk, and formeron 3 pumps a day. Eq looks like a good addition, Synthelamin for b12 energy. Maybe one of the HGH precursors?

Only photo of me without a shirt on, I was screwing around painting. :mooh:

Thanks for fighting for your country.....I know its not much, only words, but well meant..

.......at 44% bf ,eq won't help much, and if your on trt...hcg, ain't real important..but to
have a plan and to stick to it is very important.....hit the gym daily..learn to have fun in the gym....200mgs a week is normal for trt....You got big traps...[from your pic]..
...patience bro...its going to take a while..maybe look into a 'ketosis diet' or 'the anabolic diet'....google it....

The ketosis diet has been the 1000 calorie one with 80/20 fat/protien which came about from the recommendation of www.garytaubes.com (http://www.garytaubes.com) who has extensively collaborated the last couple hundred years of nutrition studies. I only recent did that for a couple weeks and felt good on it.

I dropped 30-40 lbs doing atkins then it stopped and I hung at that weight for a year continuing the low carb until I quit smoking.
That is why I'm looking at doing a mass cycle because I've basically been 1-2000 calories below what is suppose to be maintenance for 3 years. Even at the 1,000 calories I'm barely hungry. The boxing is rated at 1200 calories an hour so while I was doing that according to the calorie in/out hypothesis I was at a 4000 deficit. The enegy and alertness from the AI seems to point to a mass cycle as well, boost the test above the resistance as well as blocking the fat from converting it over to estrogen. I don't care if the muscle growth can't be seen for awhile as long as its turning the furnace back on.

I think you need to look real deep into your issues to rule out any other underlying problems other than just low test. thyroid, adrenal, ect. I would recommend maybe seeing a trt specialist that can treat you for low t but also smart enough to possibly diagnose you for maybe some other issue that could be causing the low test.

Thanks for your service bro! I am glad we lobbie for this forum, seems like there are more and more people coming forward with TRT questions since the thread started. I am sure we can all learn and contribute.

Sounds like you found something you like in the MMA gym start there and you get more motivated when you start seeing results. That's great cardio, i can't handle that much cardio. Keep at it bro and keep us informed of your progress we all need some inspiration.

Oh and here is a pre vaccination photo, face blanked just because of the nature of this forum. :winkfinger:

I do love the MMA gym and smacking things. It's cheaper than 4x a month with a trainer and the class is small enough its just like a 1 on 1 training every day.

There is something else going on, back in 2003-4 they did a MRI because the initial tests showed a 90% chance of a pituitary tumor. I didn't have one so I'm just a mutant without superpowers. They don't give the VA doc's a lot of creative options especially when GWS is concerned. The first 8 years after the war they wrote off the gulf syndrome as a mental disorder which kept guys like me from even saying anything because I didn't want to get labeled as a head case.

Can you afford to see a doc outside the VA?

In a normal year I could and can again in a few months. Right at this moment it's the tightest it's been in years. I'm a general contractor and sitting on negative balances until some of the funds from long completed jobs come in.

A interesting article/study on testosterone's inverse relationship with BMI and type 2 diabetes.

Why do you say the EQ won't help much? My main interest in that is the collagen for the tendons and ligaments because I'm a little creaky already at 41 and don't want to damage anything. Although a HGH peptide might be better?

My main goals are dropping weight, regaining functional strength, some size and flexibility. and attempting to reset my body basically.

I agree with bigmoe. Get your thyroid and adrenals dialed in, but also check your DHEA/DHEA-S. A good TRT/Endo can help you get this dialed in.

Best of luck, and thanks for your service.

The thyroid seems ok, adrenals are a mess from the sleep apnea going so long undiagnosed. I stop breathing 60 times/hr and each time the adrenals had to give a little shot to keep me breathing. Now that I'm on the CPAP it's taken the strain off the adrenals, I just don't know that they will recover ever. I can literally drink 3 pots of coffee and still take a nap. And they affect hormones as well.

So it's really frustrating because so much overlaps. Did the apnea cause the hypogonadism, or the other way around? Did the weight cause a false hypogonadism state by the fat converting all the test to estrogen? On top of that is Inattentive ADD.

My endo is ok, he's just handcuffed a bit by the VA on what he can do or even talk about. I think once cash flow is better I'll talk to one on cash basis and just request the tests and results through the VA

That's why I'm hear, i need to rip off that excess fat and see what is behind the curtain. I won't ever be off sleeping with the CPAP mask because my apnea is neurological and obstructive. Not being dead tired all the time and possibly even reviving my own test production would be nice especially since I haven't had kids yet.

I remember that debate lasted forever, that sucks bro. Keep knocking the piss out of things and in process maybe an avenue will open where you can get the medical attention you deserve.

I've decided I'm going with formeron for AI, HCG 500x2 week, GHRP-2, CJC 1295 plus hex to jack up HGH for fat loss and repair. Then if the VA won't boost my test I'll augment that after a few months of doing the above.

I'm going to do the Warrior/Paleo diet I'm just trying to figure out if I should jack up eating for a couple weeks to get my metabolism fired up again after being at 1-2k calories for a few years.

The ghrp-2/cjc 1295 combo is really popular, that's probably your best bet as far as gh related chems go. Since you're on TRT anyway I might think of adding 100-ish mg of deca or 1-200mg EQ in with your normal test dosage, will help with collagen production especially with the peptides in there. I would just stick with a solid lifting routine for a while and cardio 3x a week or so. Now that you're test levels are in check (and with the other things you're running) you will drop some fat and gain some muscle at first no matter what. Once you level out a bit and see where you're at then decide what kind of changes you need to make to your diet. I don't think you should go any lower than where you're at (if you're actually eating around a legit 1800cals?) to try and lose weight. You'll be putting those calories to better use now that your hormones are in better shape and that seems damn low anyway. Best of luck to you though bro, keep us updated on your situation and I'm sure the dudes here can sort you out. Thanks also for your service and I hope things look up for you

I haven't read much on deca yet, there is so much to absorb. The more I read the more interested I'm becoming at running a cycle. The article I read yesterday was talking about the inverse relationship to testosterone and insulin resistance. That it might even be necessary to do a cycle to break through that if the current order doesn't work as expected.

I was surprised at the calorie count once I started tracking it. I thought I ate more until then.

The 1000 calories was on purpose, though I didn't track it as I should have with blood work. It's a high fat diet designed to reset insulin resistance. The challenge is you need to keep testing the blood work to find out when it's be reset and getting into the VA can be a 2-3 month event. Now that I found the 50 buck tests from the forum that makes it a lot easier.

The 1800 calories consisted usually of
breakfast 6 strips wright farms thick cut bacon
4 eggs sunny side up.
dinner 10 oz beef with blue cheese crumbles
1758 calories give or take 100 for creamer/coconut oil for eggs if I didn't fry them in bacon grease.

coconut milk as creamer in my tea or coffee.
