Never been to one, what should I look for when I go to one? I have pretty severe pain from an accident. What are some tips for finding a quality pain management doctor?

I'd say stick with a pain management doc in a nice part of down unless you're wanting a doc that's a pill mill. I know most of them are extremely restricted and are closely monitored by the DEA.

Obviously the man is lookin for pill mill lol. What state are you in ?

Pill mill? Nah I'm not an addict or a druggie who needs pills to get "high" or feel good.

I'm looking for a quality doctor who will help, not one who judges. Which is why I'm wondering what I should look for in one since it's been years since I had to find a new one.

look into the epidural shots, they work, pain management dr's just prescribe pills, well around here anyway, and thats a nasty road you dont wanna start traveling my friend...they do the shots in 3 visits spread over a period of months, i did 2 series, and havent needed to go for the third, research into it, it works!!!

I am telling you. You need to find out their main type of therapy some docs believe in shots, some pills, some in natrual remedies, some physical therapy it depends on what you want .

pain management from an accident?

Sounds like scar tissue and accident aftermath.

Possibly physical therapy but don't be fooled let's be reasonable here.......

If it is damage from an accident it's probably surgery time bro.

There is no quartz necklaces and magic Wands here and you have a few options.

1) pills
2)physical therapy dependent on MRI 1st. Some idiot dr's in nv send u for physical therapy be4 an MRI and do more damage by "working " the area.

3) surgery to fix issues

That's what any dr will prescribe regardless of who u see.

My brother is in pain management and is a heavy substance abuser. He has pissed dirty numerous times, and my mother harasses them daily that they should stop giving him drugs because he abuses them. Going on for 3 years now still not kicked off.
Don't know why i told you that but be careful.

Maybe I should have stated before but I've been on some strong stuff that makes most people get hooked. I've been on pain killers for a long time and have never once felt like I needed it for no reason at all. I don't freak out if I forget them at home for a trip or something just know that the pain is going to suck and try to do things that make it feel better.

Trying to get a appointment with one, wow it's crazy the things they want you to do before going in! I guess all the abuse of pills is what causes this and people like myself who don't abuse have to deal with it too.

Done tons of physical therapy, injections, etc, etc and nothing has really done that much. As far as surgery goes I've been told by more then one specialist that getting surgery may not help at all and some even advise against it. Don't really want to go into detail why because that's not the point I'm trying to make but I wish there was other options. I'm not down with back surgery either at my age, I've heard and seen personally what can happen I'd rather take pills and deal with the pain then possibly making it worse.

Not really for my area. Already checked all them out on all the review sites for doctors and not much came up. Plus I'm looking for questions to ask them or what I should look for I don't want to rely on a few reviews.
