Red wine to tighten up pre-judging?

I've heard to drink 4oz red wine 15 min prior to prejudging because it dries you out/tightens the skin. So is it a good idea to drink 1 glass the night before? Or are the after effects past the 15-30 min bad?

It only makes the veins pop out more.

Wine is not on that plan.
