Thursday's Training:

Because of all the pain I was in from the past two workouts, I decided to sit this session out. I wasn't alone, three of us were out because of injuries (one had back problems, the other was due to a knee that kept buckling, mine was shin splints, back pain - muscle - and a burned out chest).

So I got to watch up close as one of my friends (Jasper) grappled no-gi with another guy (Sam). He was giving Sam some tips on hip control - I was very interested...

BJJ Training

20 minutes warm-up. Sprinting, rolling, shoulder pulls, elbow walks (?),

25 minutes learning - two more collar chokes. Also learned a third collar choke from one of the other guys.

30 minutes rolling with a partner (finally). I tapped my first partner 3 or 4 times (he isn't as advanced but is a great teacher). I somehow pulled out of a side mount with him on top and wrenched his arm up behind his back with his face planted in the mat for...

BJJ Training:

20 minutes for Warm-ups. Sprints, 100 jumping jacks, 40 push-ups (didn't get all of them). Some compound rolling and position drills, Modified push-ups with rear kickbacks. Some sit-ups with a training partner to push me back down (I got 25 out of the first 50 and about the same on the second set). Then Renato wanted us to transition from our backs to standing with our partners sitting on our feet by doing a sit-up, grabbing the back of the other guy's Gi and forcing...
