Anyone ever "donate blood"? Recently I came across a hospital employee and was talking about blood transfusions and how that works. Did you know the blood they use doesn't come from these donations? I guess there's only a certain portion of blood, a synthetic portion that is transfused. So, if synthetic means manmade, & that is what is used out of protocol, what's the deal with the blood donor vans?
The Red Cross is a Federal Agency.
When you donate blood, you are freely and willingly donating a storage, reusable sample of your personal DNA for the government to use at their own discression. For example, they could study disease trait mapping through DNA just like the insurance companies would love to do..Learn about your predisposition to heart attack so they could modify your policy to exclude coverage. But most importantly, this DNA could be used against you in a court of law. Could you imagine getting accused of a crime where there is blood, and then a sample of your donation blood being used against you by the prosecution? It is truly possible and why not. You gave it away.
Like they say, "no good deed goes unpunished..." I would never willingly be profiled. And anyone that says "its ok, I'm not doing anything wrong so I have nothing to fear" has obviously never been done wrong.
