Saw this story on I think cnn the other day. Looks like a nice piece of fear mongering/propaganda.
apparently common sense was not one of factors used when making the judgement criteria.

alcohol is not a naturally occurring liquid, it has no positive effects on the health common sense tells you this, only the foolish would think otherwise.

fermentation occurs naturally without human intervention. Man just replicated the progress and refined it. And it isnt just a human thing. New world monkeys have been observed eating fermented fruit for the sole purpose of getting buzzed.

the fermentation process may be natural but no where in nature can one find alcohol that occurs naturally, this tells us something. you can not go out into nature and "harvest" alcohol, it has to be made. just because you "can" combine things together doesn't mean you should. just like the combination of high fats and sugars in foods, no where in nature is there any food that contains both a high amount of fats and sugars. all of the high fat vegetables are also high in fiber and low GI, this also tells us something.

That is untrue. Animals eat fermented fruit in the Jungle and have a huge inter-species keg party. Alcohol fermentation is a natural biological process.

By the way, that study is not entirely accurate. The CDC's research shows that nicotine is the most harmful drug in the world.

do you know how the fermentation process works? you eat rotten fruit? you can not go to a live plant and pick a fruit that bears alcohol...

Alcohol is not bad, but when the body oxidizes it and turns it into formaldehyde we get tipsy. Formaldehyde is not good.
Please do not PM me with questions, I will not PM you back.

If you want to be a smart ass, I can be one back. You said alcohol didn't occur in nature. A decomposing plant occurs in nature. Nature made the fruit which fell off the tree. Fungus is also natural, not man made. The fungi that consumes the sugars from the fruit and expel alcohol and CO2 is in fact natural, not man made.

The whole fucking process from start to finish occurs "naturally" in "nature" without any help from man. If that isn't natural I don't know what is. Just because humans found an easier way to make it doesn't make it artificial or synthetic.

name a living plant where you can pick a fruit that bears alcohol? dogs eat there own shit doesn't mean it's a good idea. so because an animal does it we should to? does eating something that is decaying sound like a good idea and would have a "positive" effect on the health status?
