i'ld like them use the same dilegence in big pharma drugs. my mom used leviquin about two years ago, it had such an adverse reaction she was bed ridden for months and even now has to use a walker w/ a seat over short distances. an MRI showed she had severe tendon and ligament damage. small bones in her feet died. it destroyed her body and she left 100s of complaints w/ the FDA. no action taken.

theres a handfull of complaints on a supplement and they make 483 inspections in just a few months??

    Man, awhites1, that's awful.

And, Prince, so supplement companies are being targeted by big pharma via the FDA? I'm enough of a conspiracy theorist to believe this is the case.

Well leviquin is produced by Johnson and Johnson. So obviously FDA isn't going after them. apparently it's been a common reaction to the medication. It belongs to a class of extreme anti biotics and it basiclly attacks everything in your system.

Theres supposedly several thousand people who have reported this same reaction or similar symptons to the FDA from what we read online but they dont pull it. They just had to put a special warning label on the box after enough complaints. One my mom didn't see b/c she had to use samples from the doctor since she didn't have insurance.

I had to move back home for about a year for financial reasons when it first happened, I used to wake up in the middle of the night and hear here crying and writhing in pain and there was nothing I could do for her. I'm not joking when I say bed ridden, she had a wheel chair for nearly the first year and only left the house maybe once a week, and had a chair to sit on in the shower.

Theres all KINDS of medications like this the FDA approve and allow to be marketed and given out with horrible adverse reactions and never bother to take off the market. But, there they are to crack down pro-hormones, vitamins, and other suppliments.

yup, that is what I continue to try and tell everyone, its extremely corrupt, the FDA does not care about our health, if they did tobacco would be illegal.

the only reason the FDA is going after supplements is because big pharma basically tells them to. l have posted countless articles and blogs about the FDA targeting diet and ED type supplements. why? because it cuts into the Rx drugs on the market made for the same thing. Whenever big pharma feels their profits are being cut into by a dietary supplement, e.g. Ephedra, they make sure the FDA bans it.

have you ever heard of ANY person dying from the direct use of a dietary supplement? I haven't. How many people die from Rx drugs every year?

I don't think its a conspiracy theory at all, its blatantly obvious how this corrupt system works if you're as close to this business as I am.

As long as the government is in the pocket of big business nothing positive will ever happen.

There is a lot of cleanup needed in this industry. Few understand GMP's. Gaspari basically had a paperwork issue. Very minor. I'd have no issues as a consumer using their products.
