Did they have a claim on the product that violated DSHEA? We haven't had any of our Elderberry products pulled.

According to the rogue agency, Wyldewood had violated provisions in the US Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) that restrict health claims for food items, warranting the sudden invasion.

the FDA sent a warning letter to Wyldewood in 2006 to remove or modify certain health claims that it said were in violation of federal law, but the company did not comply. FDA officials claim that Wyldewood continued to make unapproved claims, and that seizing the product was the next step.

Just what I assumed, they had claims that violated DSHEA and ignored letters from the FDA to modify those claims. Stop giving them a reason!

"This supplement is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease." Any claims left on the label that directly contradict this statement would remain in violation.

Looks like this company committed the common error of making health claims. When I used to drive a truck, one of my regular stops was a bottler of a liquid supplement. Anyways they got raided in similar fashion for the same thing. You would have thought it was a coke or heroin deal with the multi agency task force presence.
