Holbeach St. Johns bodybuilder James Bacon has been crowned Mr Junior Lincolnshire.

The 19-year-old, who is a regular at Holbeach Weight Training Club, topped the junior category (age 18-21) at The Lawn event in Lincoln.

Clad in only a pair of trunks, competitors at the event had to strike a series of poses to show off their muscles in the best light for the show.

It was Bacon's first attempt at winning the coveted crown – but he’s now being primed to compete in Mr. Junior Britain next year.

He said, "I was confident beforehand but I’m obviously delighted to win. I train at least four times a week and you have to be very dedicated with your diet, so it’s nice to get some kind of reward. The next big event for me is Mr. Britain, but I think I’ll have a bit of time off before I start training for that."

Bacon, who currently attends King's Lynn College, is hoping to stay in bodybuilding for the forseeable future.
